It is a tradition, and its not meant to be disrespectful.
@MyrahHolmesАй бұрын
@@Bunch1810 Yeah, quite the opposite actually, drinking the 'shot' (Or eating the food) intended for the dead is disrespectful. That's why the drink is tipped out, usually onto the ground. the idea is the ghosts can breath in the 'essence' of the food, drink, or incense as it 'evaporates' or is burned. In eastern traditions you can also send items & money to the dead to use in the afterlife by burning paper 'cut outs' or effigies.

Lol yes people (at least in America idk about other places) will “pour one out” for a deceased love one. It’s usually for deceased people who liked to drink with their friends and then at the funeral the friends pour out a drink they would’ve shared with their deceased friend.

The term "wake" comes from Old English and Proto-Germanic words that mean "to observe" or "stand guard". The Watcher’s Eye was the religious symbolism of both Jacobans and Peterans in Sims Medieval. The Watcher is the player, but the Eye is very prevalent in the game. Also, you could have pet crows or parrots and they could bring you gifts… just like the crows they are introducing. Even the outfits the sims are wearing occasionally remind me of the costumes in Sims Medieval.

Common misconception, the death card in Tarot readings doesn’t mean physical death. It’s usually the start of something new or the end of a cycle. It doesn’t mean someone is going to die. Also, the seeing eye isn’t about seeing into the future. In different religions it can mean different things but overall it’s a sign of protection and healing.

Like the death of who the daughter was at the beginning of the trailer, after she gets back from her travels and looks completely different. 12:34 In Bulgaria, we sometimes pour water or alcohol (mainly wine) so the dead aren't thirsty. It's mainly made when you are at the person's grave or you are talking about a dead person. Also, when we spill (accidentally or not) food we say "Someone dead is hungry"
@aliciachhemАй бұрын
That’s so interesting to know! I’m Cambodian American and we do the same thing. We leave food out for loved ones after they pass. We leave food and light incense for them every night for 100 days (sometimes longer). if we ever forget to leave new food for them, someone in the house might accidentally spill something and we check to see if anyone fed our loved one.

@@deligracy it’s believed that for the 100 days the person doesn’t know they’re gone and so they’re “knocking” the plate out of your hands when you haven’t fed them first! It’s happened to my cousin a week or two after my grandma passed away. Come to find out, we forgot to put food out for her that night! We also do a sort of celebration of life at 100 days to help them pass over to the other side.

@aliciachhem Here, the most special days are 40th day and 1 year day. At these days the closest ones (family and friends) are gathering to show respect to the dead. Please update the graveyard you did years ago for the twins LP! Talk about a throwback! You do take caskets to wakes, usually unless the person died gruesomely it’s opened and you say your goodbyes there. This pack feels very fresh. We haven’t gotten anything like this before that’s not all about occults but still touches on the darker times in life and normalizing it. Because life isn’t always just about partying, love, and happy times. I love that they added the Wednesday dance. The world looks really nice too reminds me of the get together world a little. The crack in the roof is going to be so good for building fixer upper’s. The CAS looks lovely. Build looks phenomenal. Overall a pack that nobody really thought about but one that’s gonna age very well and add to the core of the game. PS I’m American and never heard of the pour one out tradition either so you aren’t alone on that. I really love how at the end the man looked like he was going up to heaven and how the baby came down. It reminded me of this saying my grandmother used to say in Italian (it sounded better in a different language) but basically meaning the circle of life.

I'd love to see freelance death doulas (I have a friend who is one so if a modder does this I think she'd be so pleased), financial advisors who specialise in end of life services, funeral directors and spokespersons, maybe a grave robber branch in the criminal career (this could also be freelance?!), and im assuming there will be crossplay with paranormal stuff so you could run a freelance job as a medium, tarot specialist and so forth???
