My mothers FUNERAL was Amazing. I was 12 yrs old and I will forever remember people shouting and praising God and I mean they had a joyful meeting. This is definitely a going away song. My mother could sing this song so good, she would get happy in the spirit and she bout spit her false teeth out. Hallelujah and thank God for the home u have awaiting.

We saw the Cookes sing this song back in the late 1980's at the Breaks Interstate Park in Va. They brought down the house. People cried, laughed, shouted, ran, danced and just sat and praised God. Felt like we were in an old fashioned Holy Ghost spirit filled church. Can't find that much nowadays.
