So all the sounds we hear are sampled from the sculpture? I'm guessing you must have issues in that the sculpture must have several notes sounding all at any one time? If so do they harmonise? Has it been made to a chord/scale or is it just random? This isn't critical in any shape or form but just curious about the sculpture as not been there (yet!) and in principle sounds a wonderful concept and I really like what you are doing bringing it to life - great idea for a project, well done. Nice & interesting video and music - liked

Thank you! So actually unfortunately no, there is a lot that you hear which is directly from the sculpture, but first I shaped it through a filter, so that I could select which frequencies we’d hear, or cut out the birds etc, then I decided to run these sounds through Rings- a resonator, which has an input which then dramatically alters the sound, but I think you can hear the rings sound if you’re familiar with it.. you’re right that the sculpture is tuned in some kind of harmonic scale but I have no idea what, and on its own it sounds pretty dissonant, so it needed a lot of sculpting and help to get these results I think! you could say the source is from the field recordings, but in this piece it definitely needed the help of Rings, and some good effects processing, reverb and granulation etc- if you haven’t already, the first video about this sculpture should have a bit more info and has some of the raw sound from the recordings as well, if your interested! Thanks for the kind words & support, glad you enjoyed the video! 👍😀
