Who decided to ask Ween to do the film? Obviously many other bands would have passed on it so they might not have been the first choice, or maybe they were, who knows?

They had no idea, if you turn on the captions while the movie is on they completely mess up the lyrics and everything lol. The person who was captioning this movie thought these guys were actually called The Weens rather than Ween so whenever they're playing onscreen it says "The Weens playing"

@@RayzedUp that's hilarious. The thing is, the captions are usually done by people not involved with the production. Sometimes they are automatically generated and therefore often wrong. At one point Pat calls them "The Ween" which obviously that was done because it was part of Pat's character to be oblivious like that and not because Julia didn't know they were actually called Ween. But the closed captions person might have heard Pat say The Ween and took it from there. Whatever the case I'm sure Gene and Dean wouldn't have it any other way.
