This short film demonstrates the use of an early, very rare, single lens microscope, built 1785 by Thomas Fuller an apprentice watchmaker from Norwich, Norfolk. It also expains the difficulties experienced and the skills possessed by those early microscopists, such as Robert Hooke and Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, although working prior to this date, nevertheless still used these single lens microscopes.
