Went from triple 27" to the 49" G9 OLED and it's marvelous, although i mostly do gaming, and OLED is far from ideal for productivity. In the productivity aspect IPS is still king on monitors. This monitor is top tier! I love the fact you can switch between the 4K and 1080 high refresh especially with the option to scale the diagonal view down to a usable esports size for a desk. The speakers are the cherry on top, this monitor caters for pretty much every need with the best display technology (oled) atm and has a nice minimalist non 'gamer' design.
@bradnotbrad7 ай бұрын
It’s so close to perfect, the dual mode function needs some work, the 1080p mode is very blurry compared to a native 1080p monitor when scaled down to 27or 24 inches and only really usable at the full screen size, and then the full screen size is hard to get used to for a competitive game. I wish there was a remote with this monitor which made the 27 in OLED a joy to use the menus on. MLA isn’t quite there yet with these, the vertical lines are very visible in grey backgrounds still. Text at 4k is fine, but it looks like a screen door is in front of your monitor. VRR flicker is still an issue and is super distracting making adaptive sync on this monitor a no go. All of that without mentioning the price, if this monitor was perfection I wouldn’t judge the price tag, but the compromises are real here.
@occasus79647 ай бұрын
regarding monitors, I'd rather have a mini-led monitor. Having to baby an OLED with so many static images on a monitor is rather annoying.
7 ай бұрын
@@bradnotbrad Why would you buy this monitor if you are going to scale down to 27 or 24? I play CS2 on full screen at 1280x960 stretched and this monitor is perfect fast and better than any horrible 540 hz monitor out there with a shitty TN panel.
@bradnotbrad7 ай бұрын
I was having trouble getting used to the increased size of the 32in display, but after an hour everything was ok and I was able to get my head back into the game. I would call the 24 and 27 in modes a major letdown, but I’m glad they are on there for those who might be interested. The 480hz on OLED experience is good, but I think that backlight strobing would making the image clearer rather than just “smoother”. Those 540hz panels normally have some backlight strobing tech that really gives an advantage in clarity.

One thing to consider for a single monitor setup too is by getting a streamdeck plus, since i mainly use my pc to play games i've always found having a second monitor annoying in a lot of ways like realistically the only things i'c really use on a second monitor is stuff like spotify, discord and chrome but like i only somewhat liked it for convenience and that was it like i was fine living without it, with the streamdeck plus though it does basically everything i want it to without cluttering my desk up nearly as much as a second monitor would while in a lot of ways being a direct upgrade to a monitor having key controls built straight into the device such as playback controls for spotify as well as controls for discord as well as having other very useful features too.

It would be sick someone made essentially this monitor except a 5K120Hz and 1440p480Hz dual-mode version of it. 5K is exactly 4x1440p so the scaling would be perfect 2x. Some people take issue with 4K not being super sharp for productivity at 32 inches, and 1080p not being sharp for gaming at 32 inches, so going 5K would be perfect for both of these usecases. When Thunderbolt 5 and the next generation of this panel arrives (~2025) that might happen.

been waiting for years for the masses to come round, still not there yet. In early 2007, i got a 24". Lived in remote for work and all the colleagues who saw , said stuff like" are you crazy' its huge!' I think within 18 months, 24" was commonplace. Same with TVs. 50 inch was seen as humongous. Ive always maintained that wed have our screens much larger if tech allowed, and our perceptions are warped from growing up with postage stamp sized screens. With PC screens, singlular, with gui & mouse movement, 32" is nearing that. OF course you could have one much larger , so massive desktop multiple windows / apps. But for now , with minimal neck crakning to see edge of screen etc. 32" is it. ultrawides lack height. id say 2:1 would be the prefect one size fits all ratio. Its smack bang between 21:9 & 16:9. best as can be for both worlds of portrait and panorama

@@uhvoiidtv because it was a major defining defacto resolution & DPI standard. Why 2560x1440p @ 32" worked perfectly with default 100% windows, app & browser scaling (its same DPI as 1080p @ 24"). Also pro tournament is about speed, not graphics. We here talking about best monitor for your home PC. Not pro tournament. Racing cars dont have air con, that sacrifice that for speed. ITs not worht the trade off. Similarly , the extra hz you can get from the smaller 24s aint worth it for us to give up 32". Going smaller? fuk that
@fredfinks7 ай бұрын
@@uhvoiidtv i should say, still IS the defacto standard. for apps and web browsing, etc. Scaling has matured say past 2 years. The app has to work correctly with the scaling we set. Now who has 100% default 100% normal - i.e no scaling? people with eyes of a microscope, or people with that 1080p 24" or 2560x1440p 32". If youre still using 24" these days youre either poor or a pro gamer wanting 500hz refresh. 1440p 32" is a great monitor,and that res isnt too demanding for GPUs. of course, if you have the $$ get 4k. 27" if you must because you have a shallow desk. 32" with 90cm depth is good. for desk workspace too. altenrativley wall mount / arm mount, so its close back to wall.

So many different types of extenders and offsets, and different types of plugs and other accessories. Have you ever considered making a build that ONLY uses fittings? No tubes at all. You just connect fittings and adapters to make the runs. If you could line up all the groves perfectly, it would be BEYOND beautiful. Very expensive, but since you specialize in sff and usff builds, it would be perfect for you. PLEASE try this!
