The dialogue seems really snappy and good so I am excited to see how it plays out! It's great seeing Hachikuji again and I really wonder how Araragi ended up being chained up in the end...

If you're on episode 18 of eva, then you've already passed the reference. In episode 6, Rei tells Shinji "you won't die because I'll protect you" right before their fight with Ramiel.

This conversation with Hachikuji is super iconic, particularly the love being sold for 298 yen and also the explanation of reality and oddities being backstage, for some reason it’s one of those bits that stick with you I found Nise one of the weaker seasons on my first watch but I’ve grown to like it quite a bit.

17:07 is a reference to a series titied "Read or Die"; there's an OVA series and a TV series that turns out to be a sequel. It's sort of a superhero spy series; Yomiko, the protagonist of the OVAs, can manipulate any paper she touches in all sorts of inventive ways.

Nise is one of my favorite parts of the series. It wasn't when I first finished it but seeing how everything fits together on a rewatch raised my opinion of it. It is a polarizing part of the series though.

Sometimes I seriously believe that Araragi is intentionally dense about Nadeko's love for him, like he's pretending not to notice it and he's not taking her seriously because she's still young. The same can be said for his sisters, you will realize later that in his eyes they are just reckless children.

In the novel during Nadeko Snake he thinks something to the effect that she loves him, but he doesn't want it to be true so he's just gonna ignore it.

@@ceruleanchrodt2293 I think I found it, and probably confused/mixed it up with something else that comes later (maybe in Otori), but from Nadeko Snake chapter 6: ..."I’m a little jealous to know that someone out there is the object of that cute a girl’s affections.” Were this a rom-com manga, the love interest would turn out to be none other than me, but I highly doubted that was the case here. I was her “big brother” and nothing more. Brother and sister─ While I said I was jealous, I had a girlfriend, so of course, if Sengoku really did have feelings for me, it would just be a headache…" Him wanting to ignore it would however still be consistent with everything in Owari (the lookin away theme)

Damn i really need to go to the supermarket now, maybe love is still in stock for 298 yen. What a bargain! Well, this episode kinda perfectly shows what Nise is, a lot of extremly witty and funny dialogue about deeper topics than what it seems a first but with some weird fanservice added to it. The entire discussion between Hachikuji and Araragi especially the part about whats behind the curtain gives us actually a decent insight in how oddities work. Once you are backstage you get involved with it much more but for most people its fine or maybe even better to just stay as a viewer in the audience and not see whats backstage. Also from this season onwards the director changed and will stay for a while. This new style is a bit different but once the director gets used to it i think it can be very interesting. Lastly there really arent that many scenes in the entire series that are as uncomfortable as the shed scene in Kizu anymore but there are like 1 or 2 that are similiar, one of which being the infamous thoothbrush scene you have already heard about. Edit: We did skip over Senjous birthday. I guess thats a private thing between Araragi and Senjougahara

Hello. I always enjoy your videos from Japan. I don't speak English so I watch your videos by translating the automatically generated subtitles on KZbin. However, since the last “Kizumonogatari Part 3”, the English subtitles are no longer generated. It is the same this time. With “Bakemonogatari” there was no problem, all the subtitles were generated in English. Is it possible to fix this problem from your end? Sorry for my impolite request. Hi thanks for the info, I didn't actually know about that. Unfortunately I can't change that, since it's KZbin that scans the video and decides which language it should subtitle. Some videos might end up subtitling the anime dialogue, while others will subtitle my speech. Sorry for that!
