Andrew’s voice actually sounds good here. He is hitting the notes and not doing doing any shrieking or growling which he usually does when he is having trouble.

Its a mystery why they sound good or don't, without getting into anyone's business... They've sounded quite solid for the last few months. Also, do they ever stop touring? Or is this just how they live?

@@artemusprine I think they're about to take a break to enable Ben to do other things. The big question on everyone's lips I think is whether they will emerge with CC reinstalled on guitar. I think that the question of whether Andrew is "hitting" it or not comes down to his lung capacity. You can see that he hasn't changed his technique that much, live, over the years, he just runs out of breath a lot sooner now, and has to push his vocal chords or strain to sustain more often as a result. He never was that careful with his voice, and he's always fallen back on bad singing habits, but it's more noticeable now when it causes a problem. When he takes the care to remain in this less onerous register, he still sounds like The Man, but he often just seems to be enjoying himself too much to be careful... which is not the worst thing I suppose.

@@TomNobody631 I still find them highly engaging. Seeing them in June was a treat. Also, think they sound better now than then- just a few months ago. But what I really want is a new song. I wonder if those songs that he teased were almost ready will ever be played. Not sure what was so special about Dylan but there's no arguing that he re-energized the band.

@@artemusprineYeah you won't find me arguing - I think they're deeply cool and deeply charismatic. I don't really think the "voice good vs voice not good" debate is really the point of this at all - I just feel compelled to defend the lad at all costs. I last saw em in 2022 and it was a brilliant, vibrant gig. Just like the other times I've seen them. I certainly think they've still got it, and I don't mind at all that the performance represents where the members are at in the present tense rather than attempting to recall the past.
