Very helpful for pitching this equipment to my clients that need it.

Pitch the Sit to Stand Lift where you place butt pads under them to hold them up. This machine sucks and I know no one who enjoys it, caregiver or patient/resident.

Invacare says to open the the base legs before you lift a person on this lift. That's what the lever is for, that comes up from the base. There's no mention of that here. It creates extra stability for the the lift.
@harmonyhomemedical3 жыл бұрын
Yes that is text book how to do it, and safest. In most my field experiences people aren't really doing that and they stay safe just fine, but that is best practice.
@Amber-792 жыл бұрын
She didn’t show a lot of stuff right. Didn’t even show how to gauge which loops to use at which knobs depending on height, knee pads weren’t correctly positioned, you always open the legs and Yes that is 101 safety of using lifts and Yes those in the field always do open them if doing their job correctly. For you to suggest otherwise when that isn’t safe is quite alarming.

I thought this was SIT to STAND. Didn't get that demonstration!
@princejohnson62133 жыл бұрын
Is the patient’s feet supposed to be tounching the feet stands of the sit to stand before they begin the transfer?
@ericasell14233 жыл бұрын
Yes in most cases, this demo we did the leg straps shorter, which engages the legs earlier. most sit to stand slings don't even have the lower leg straps so they wouldn't take the feet off the plate ever. A lot of people get scared to just use the one that goes under the arms and not under the legs, but then once they get the feel and see it works they want to sling without the leg straps. That happens about half the time.

Sit to stand???? She sat to sat. Wheres the standing motion?? Did i miss something???
@frogglemuffin54413 жыл бұрын
The standing motion happens with the back harness. She mentioned that the under the knee harness wont allow them to stand fully. Same lift, different harnesses for different needs.
@Amber-792 жыл бұрын
When they don’t have the leg straps it’s sit to stand but this machine is horrible because you usually have someone overweight and who can’t assist at all and the harness cuts into them. The Stand Assist is a different machine and works a hell of a lot better, is safer and way more comfortable for patient and way easier for the caregiver. This is the poor man’s version of the sit to stand lift.
@TGHEMR3 жыл бұрын
What is the outside width of the legs when open for use? Does it have to open widest for use? Also what clearance under bed?
@frogglemuffin54413 жыл бұрын
No answer on width, but the open enough to clear a wheelchair. They go under beds easily, unless it was a platform bed with no open space.
@Amber-792 жыл бұрын
When you have overweight people the legs fall from the sides and the harness cuts into them either way, making it uncomfortable and an absolute nightmare for both caregiver and patient. The Sit to Stand Lift with the butt pads you slide under them is way easier, safer and much more secure without bruising the patients or having the straps cutting into them if they are obese… which is usually the case.
@Amber-792 жыл бұрын
@@frogglemuffin5441 try setting it up with a toilet seat riser (with a frame like a commode would have.) You can’t get these in there easily at all unless you have a very large space, and hospitals, apartments, living facilities and nursing homes have small bathrooms. Now that’s fun! You drag the toilet frame with you every time because it doesn’t fit easily at all.

This looks like the Invacare patient lift on your website, what is the model number? also what brand and model number is the sling?
@ericasell14233 жыл бұрын
The sit to stand is the Invacare get-u-up and the patient lift is the iLift or RPL450 with Invacare. Invacare sling is RP100

You need to show what knobs you use for what heights and how to adjust the knee pads since that’s a must for this to even work. The knee pads aren’t even positioned correctly. They are KNEE PADS meaning they cover the knees. Your camera angles are awful too. I’d also show trying to get into a small space bathroom since that is typically what you have to deal with, and when they have a frame for the toilet to raise the seat for the individual, because that causes even more issues with this machine. You also should show when you have a patient who can not stand, hold or even pick up their feet and are morbidly obese since that’s typically who uses these, not a fully functional, small little woman you bring nowhere. The more realistic and details you share the better off viewers will be and also those using and buying this big hunk of junk.
