They both used Cortosis. Not only does it momentarily short out lightsabers, but it could also absorb a lot of energy. The two saving graces about is, 1 - it’s difficult to extract and process, 2 - it’s fragile.

Rank 1, veskar (Mandelorien iron). if i remember correctly its a lot stronger than Cortosis and is also resisting lightsaber and things like blaster also have little to no effect. the ability to see flaws in things (Shatterforce i think the name is) could beat it with little problem but needed to be close combat for it and its a realy rare ability to. i think there is two jedi in lukes jedi order in legends that had it and they found out about it in their mid to late 30s. and one of them was a former jedi in Jason Solo that had at the time fallen to the dark side but was still not using the name darth caides and his sister that learned about her ability while training to defeat him or practicing. (boba fett sent a pice of mandelorien armour made of the metal to her at some point and she shatterd it with the ability during training, i dont remember all the details)

@@baldrian22I’ve imagined an alloy made of phrik, cortosis and beskar. It’d have great heat resistance, amazing durability and extreme energy absorption potential thanks to the features of cortosis and beskar. I’ve had an idea for a force sensitive mando, using the rare ability of mechu-deru crafting nanodroids of this metal and he applies them to his body for an experiment using the nano-droids/bacta combo to boost his biology for harsher environments, and in doing so, gains a higher passive force sensitivity that he originally didn’t have since his use of mechu-deru wasn’t knowingly used, but subconsciously during his work!

Cortosis had been in use for a long time. Most Jedi, Sith, even military knew how brittle it was. They typically used it with other blaster and lightsaber resistant materials as an alloy. And it was used be the military, Sith, Jedi, purates, mercenaries, etc. It was used in KOTOR as either an overlay on the armor, or under layer. I can't remember off the top of my head.

it was expensive, so it was limited enmass to Vibroswords that allowed for basic infantry and security forces to battle Jedi and Sith. in terms of armor it was only provided to officers and commanders, and maybe the rare crime lord or bounty hunters if they got the credits for it.

@LuoSon312_G8 Cortosis for weapons was usually in an alloy, but usually also mixed with other materials that were both vibration and lightsaber resistant. As to armor, as I said, usually limited to either bracers for melee/Force users, or as an add on to your armor. Like a under layer that you could fasten onto the armor piece. Limited, usually, to like a chest piece. The main armor may have some resistance to lightsabers, etc. But mainly limited to like a glancing blow or shot. Might even take a full blaster shot, but usually was limited to a bolt, in a spot. But since most soldiers, or either side, purates, etc., don't normally go up against Jedi or Sith, they tend to save that stuff for when they do. There is other material that is resistant and more abundant than cortosis. But what cortosis can do that most of the rest can't do is disrupt the lightsaber. Felucian Skullblade can also disrupt a lightsaber, but is mainly a weapon, but a defense. Phrik, Ultrachrome, Beskar, or better suited for armor than cortosis. Even an alloy of all three would be cheaper than cortosis.

Well it was not he himself but rather the army he commanded, but also he was obsessed with combat...which is actually one of the purer motivations I would say as it is easily forseeable that even if he was born in wartimes, his insatiable lust for fighting would have eventually turned him to the dark side anyways, just like so many of those Jedi that did have to fight with reckless abandon. It also shows why one doesn´t have to be a big fan of the material itself as part of the canon, unless it is deployed with much care and many restrictions, it kind of becomes a must have for anyone considering fighting the Jedi, or in turn always poses the question why Jedi would never switch their style if they´re always getting slaughtered in droves by its use.

Man if I was Qimir then I would have gotten my hands on as much cortosis as I could then go to mandalore and get my hands on a full body suite of pure Beskar and have it reshaped into new haunting looking armor that would send fear into any I faced. If I had enough Cortosis to mix into the pure raw Beskar I’d have it nearly cover all over. If not then I’d have it mixed into my arm and leg guards. Also I’d probably put some Sith magic into each piece of armor each giving some kind of boost. Last of all if I could find someone smart enough to make nanotechnology I’d have an Iron man Mark 85 type of suit that I could take on and off the armor more easily!!

so ive been caught up in a rather heated debate about how the acolyte has made anakin being the chosen one less significant, for one if the canon from prior star wars is taken into consideration then the creation of those 2 beings in the dark side should cause the force to seek balance and create more chosen ones in the light side, arguing that that is the issue, what plaguis did was something so bad or so off balance that it made the force rebound and seek balance in the life form of anakin right? so wouldnt the two witches have had to have done something like that and wouldnt that make the force respond accordingly? cause i was told i was a liar for saying that
