Thank you for giving Brock Purdy some well deserved credit! The media has been SO focused on how Brock can't play without his weapons.. Yet.. He's been playing his best of his career this season without consistently having these weapons at his disposal, and now the media has been silent. I mean he's made Juan Jennings look like one of the best recievers in the league (he is an underrated reciever for sure, but still).. Man Purdy has been soo fun to watch!
@cmdrenfuego5 сағат бұрын
I think part of the problem is that the media hasn't noticed yet that the 49ers defense has gone from top tier to mid. So their narrative is that the 49ers are losing because Brock doesn't have his superstar weapons. The reality is that Brock is carrying the 49ers. This season has all the hallmarks of last post Superbowl lost season (2020) but Purdy simply isn't letting them be that bad.

@abdikarimsulub40289 сағат бұрын
Love the show but it feels like since the whole Caleb over Justin saga they have been super critical of him. He’s not perfect but they gloss over the good too much. Like they said he had some bad plays but they got back in the game due to him
@williamheller13628 сағат бұрын
He really only had the one "bad Justin" play where he ran backwards 15 yards, bent over like a center and fumbled the ball before the CB even hit him. The other fumble was on the center, and the other fumble was Pickens. That's what lost them the game
@Thecrazytoco8 сағат бұрын
Yeah idk… He had a great game against the colts and a bad snap cost the game. Only mistake was the bad turnover fumble, and everyone just shat the bed on that play anyway. Also the offense did claw us back into the colts game, we were down 17-0 and Justin led a comeback in the second half despite our defense not being able to get off the field until the last series.
@abdikarimsulub40288 сағат бұрын
@@williamheller1362I agree. He’s looked better every week. Definitely did enough in that 2nd half to show he is QB1 for this team. And he’s doing with the a shitty run game. Once Warren is back health it should start opening up the pass. The defense started slow and that GP fumble was hard to overcome. Excited to see how the rest of the season plays out.

@kchandaman30128 сағат бұрын
There's an assumption that the Ravens are gonna win because Lamar has Burrow's number. I'm picking Baltimore but I would not be shocked at all if Cincinnati can notch another win, especially since they're easily more desperate.
@eggbug22448 сағат бұрын
@@kchandaman3012He really doesn’t tho. He swept in Burrow’s rookie year because Burrow had no team around him, and they’ve really only played each other like 4(?) times because both have missed games due to injury. Games have been close when both are healthy
@kchandaman30127 сағат бұрын
@@eggbug2244 Listen, there may be reasons, but the H2H record exists. Burrow has more wins against Mahomes still, and that's what we talk about even if there are underlying reasons. My rationale is that Burrow doesn't match up against the Ravens defense nearly as well as Lamar does against a horrible Bengals defense. Not to mention, the Bengals will struggle against Derrick Henry, likely more than the Bills did. Burrow will have to score a LOT, and I certainly don't put it past him to do so, but it won't be easy against a Ravens defensive unit that's hitting their stride. The one thing I can see Burrow doing well in is the short-range passing game since the Ravens front seven may have to blitz more than usual.
@eggbug22447 сағат бұрын
@@kchandaman3012 I don’t disagree with anything that you said from an x’s and o’s standpoint for this game. Just that the “Lamar owns Burrow” narrative is greatly overblown. If anybody owns Burrow it’s the Browns, and it’s sole ownership at that 😂
@kchandaman30127 сағат бұрын
@@eggbug2244 True the Browns never make it close when beating the Bengals. Even this year I dunno if I can pick the Bengals to win in Cleveland. Myles Garrett loves getting to Burrow in particular lol.

The Jets do have Mike Williams who they have been starting to ramp up his usage. Also, the Vikings are a pretty solid running team as well.
@robe25048 сағат бұрын
The Jets have played 3 of the bottom 8 teams in the league and looked competitive, and one of the top 8 teams and looked second rate. The Vikes have played 3 of the top 8 teams in the league and looked dominant, and made observers describe their only game against a bottom 8 team as being a bye. There are always match up idiosyncrasies, and any given Sunday, but I would genuinely be shocked if this game wasn't over as a contest by the half. I'd suggest that the Jets are multiple tiers inferior to the Vikes, and all the Vikes doubters will have to deny reality again, and start thinking about yet another excuse for week 7.

The Cardinals defense is the weak point of this team but I've been more disappointed in their offense because that was supposed to keep them competitive. Exclude the Rams game, the Cardinals offense has only looked good for maybe 3/12 quarters this season. A combination of inconsistent QB play (which has always been a problem with Kyler) and bad playcalling. They better turn it around because when you look at their schedule, they could realistically have a losing season before their bye week. If the Cardinals have another season where they win 4-5 games, you'll have to at least consider drafting a qb.

Your convo on fields sounds like you watched the one bad sack fumble and inferred everything else. Yes that play was terrible but also his only turnover worthy play all year. The Caleb bias here is ridiculous. Rather than pointing at Chicago, the one historic organization that has never had a great qb, you point at the last qb that didn’t work while making excuse for the young one not working. It’s the organization, not the qb’s and fields is turning a corner

Fields isn't 'reverting' to anything. Just as high-2 cover shell 'prevent defense' prevents wins, Arthur Smith's offense that everyone thinks prevents TOs prevents scoring. There *_IS no_* "preventing turnovers." There is playing to your players' strengths, or failing to. Nothing else. Fields has better weapons than he did in '22: he's got Freiermouth _and_ Washington at TE & Pickens compared to how Mooney was kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZ3TkqyXZd2tY5Y on the Bears, deflecting Fields' Perfect Passes that hit him in the hands to the other team. Consistently. _You _*_listened to media blaming Fields for_*_ these things_ & are mindlessly repeating them, something I find Very Strange in someone who regularly points out when things are due to play-calling, roster or the QB. Eberflus *called for Fields to Not Throw To Receivers on plays, even if they were the only receivers to get open. When questioned about this 'Flus didn't deny it. He simply, calmly cut off any reporters who asked him about this with a threatening chop-wave motion of his arm, which strangely worked. Then Fields called this out himself publicly & for the next 4 weeks they stopped calling those plays, then they returned to calling them. During those weeks the offense averaged 31 ppg. They averaged 17.3 the rest of the games Fields started. When a team makes the Conscious Decision to return to using plays that score fewer points, change their plays purposely to do this, how tf do you conclude they are calling good plays designed to help the QB score? They literally did this openly. They didn't give him check-downs & wouldn't "let him" throw to receivers downfield. It was try to throw to someone covered, scramble or take a sack. What QB _wouldn't_ have more TOs under those play-calls?

Kyler is the definition of boom or bust. When he's on his game, he's one of the best in the league. When he's not, he's inefficient to straight up bad. The problem is that we don't see the highs consistently enough. It's the worst position for your quarterback to be. You want your guy to be consistently great to invest in or consistently bad so you know you can cut him.
