Wanted to say it before i even saw the description, now i have to. This is one of the best videos you've posted. I'm skating again after a forced 3 year hiatus by life, and just at the age of 29 all I hear is "You're too old for that, you're seriously still skating, etc." I couldn't ollie my first day back, but I'm already close to surpassing my teenage years. Epic video inspired me hard.
@TechLive2 жыл бұрын
lmao 29 is still plenty young. scientifically, as long as you're keeping healthy, you're still considered in your prime. don't let their BS get to you & have fun out there!
@Mallivex2 жыл бұрын
Just about to start skating after not touching a deck since primary school, 32 now will be 33 when I start properly as I gotta recover from Hernia surgery first, 29 is far from too old, we just break easier, take longer to recover and have more responsibilities now, but keep shredding it up! I personally know people in their 60's who still skate and a lot of pro skaters are still going in their 40's & 50's+. Anyway, what's wrong with doing things young people enjoy? Seems everyone you know just wants to be old and boring. It appears all some people think you should be allowed to do when you are an adult is get drunk and watch sport or go eat wine and cheese and dine at fancy restaurants. Why wouldn't you want to do something as fun and with a low ongoing cost like skateboarding, very cheap compared to most hobbies really and you can just walk out your front door and have a great time.
@the_minimalistic_adventure2 жыл бұрын
29 ain’t old at all, but I guess in the terms of trying to become professional, it’s a little old. But that’s trying to become a professional as with anything in your late 20’s. Football, basketball, boxing, etc. Even though technically, your 20’s and 30’s are still “young”!

I'mn 36 and I just re-started after 16 years off a board. All I have to say is...be prepared to be shocked at how much you lost! The biggest thing I don't have now is balance. It's unreal how little balance I have compared to my teenage self. I landed a few kickflips in my first hour, a nollie FS shuvit, and a 50-50. I also stuck the first-ever attempt at a boardslide, on a flat bar about 1 foot high. However, despite those results, I don't feel comfortable at all. Sometimes I lose balance while riding in a straight line. It's fuggin shocking, man. I'm 7 hours and 15 minutes into my return to skating (been timing my sessions), and the longest session I've been able to pull so far is about 45 minutes. I'm so out of shape that I lose like 10 pounds worth of sweat within the first 15 minutes. lol Another thing that was lost is the ability to fall cleanly. Every wipeout is a day-ender now. I've had several minor slams which took me out for a week or more. Anyway, don't let me discourage you. You should at least try!
@Blunt_Man2 жыл бұрын
@@ThisHandleFeatureIsStupid Hell, I noticed the balance problem at 19 last time I actually skated lol. Was at a party and a friend found out I used to be able to skate and wakeboard so was dead set on getting me to drop in on the half pipe in his basement. I'd had a few drinks so that probably didn't help but it took me at least 10+ tries and even then, he had to stand right by me so I didn't fall and bust my head open haha. As for recovering from a fall, that's gonna definitely be the biggest problem. I fucked myself up a few times as a teen, now I get injuries just from a small fall! Not at the level of if I was like 90 but enough to where I'll be limping for a few days to a week after with a nice bruise to go with it... I was never that great to begin with, wakeboarding was more my thing. I'd take more chances doing that cuz hitting water can hurt but nothing like concrete does! Even at my peak, most I could do was a pop shove it, got a kickflip a few times but couldn't do it regularly, could ollie high enough to kinda do a few grabs like an indie and stuff then could do a fs boardslide and a noseslide/tailslide (not sure if those are even the right names, I can't remember trick names anymore). Maybe got a 50-50 once or twice. Might be forgetting one or 2 things but that's about it besides just basics like dropping in and a manual.
