Here's a brief summary of the short comedy movie, The Sketchbook.

Nigel lacks confidence and self respect, being divorced he’s filled with single Dad guilt. In this short comedy movie he’s a wedding Toastmaster, pushed around by his work colleagues, he wishes to be a published author and longs for companionship. Wanting him to be happy his 10 year old daughter draws him a girlfriend in a cursed antique sketch book. In this short comedy movie little does she know that what is drawn within it is brought to life, with dire consequences.
To make ends meet Nigel is a wedding Toastmaster, one day after work Nigel’s boss Ray, spikes his water with gin, stealing Nigel’s car keys, while Nigel is in the toilet.
Later in the short comedy movie Nigel is drunk, Ray helps him stagger a few paces from his front door, then walks ahead, briefly going into Nigel’s parked car he releases the handbrake and bundles Nigel inside. Ray shuts the car door then pushes the car, making it rolls into Nigel’s neighbour’s wheelie bin. Police arrive at the scene and Nigel is driven away.
The following day in this short comedy movie Nigel’s on the bus, reading a driving ban, he’s en-route to pick up his daughter Scarlet from school. As its Scarlet’s birthday, Nigel is armed with balloons and a present. Checking the time Nigel realises he’s running late and at his stop, he rushes off quickly. However in his haste he leaves the present on the bus. An elderly man takes it and flips Nigel off as the bus drives by.
Looking around in a moment of desperation he rushes into a cluttered charity shop.
Inspecting the sketchbook in the short comedy movie, Nigel thinks that it’s too small to purchase, while putting it back something mystical from the sketchbook convinces Nigel to think again. Taking it to the counter Nigel prepares to pay, however Brad has disappeared behind a door at the back of the shop, Nigel leaves some money on the counter and exits.
Arriving at Scarlet’s school 20 minutes late, Nigel gives Scarlet the sketchbook, she’s unimpressed. Thinking on his feet Nigel tells her it’s from Harry Potter, in the short comedy movie Scarlet runs through a long list of things which are in Harry Potter, a sketchbook is not one of them, changing the subject Nigel tells her it’s time for a special birthday treat, dinner in the local café.
Whilst waiting for their food, Nigel can’t hide his sadness, Scarlet questions what’s going on and in a moment of honesty he tells her the truth, he’s unsuccessful, he doesn’t have many friends, he longs to be in a relationship again and he has ‘special classes’ to go to because of his little car crash.
Later in the short comedy movie Nigel drops Scarlet off at her Mum’s (Anna) house. Upon arriving Scarlet asks her Mum if she can do some art, Anna agrees and Scarlet rushes inside. Anna gleefully presents Nigel with a letter from her solicitor, demanding an extra £200 a month in child maintenance payments, filming Nigel’s reaction she tells him he better pay up, if he wants to keep seeing his daughter.
In the evening Nigel walks into what he thinks is Alcoholics Anonymous and is greeted by Crystal, a middle-aged hippy, who gives Nigel an awkwardly long hug, during which Nigel spots a sign that reads Alternative Alcoholics Anonymous.
At the meeting he meets Bernard, who has an unhealthy fetish for post boxes. Nigel protests his attendance, stating that the car wheelie bin incident was a set up. Thinking that Nigel is lying, Crystal attempts to cleanse Nigel’s aura with sound therapy, by making loud didgeridoo sounds inches from his face.
After the session in the short comedy movie, Nigel sees a beautiful Indian woman in a red sari (Prisha) by the exit of the building, smiling alluringly as she leaving. Nigel exits but she’s nowhere to be seen.
Waiting outside for Nigel is Bernard, waiting patiently by his car he offers Nigel a lift, wanting to ‘clear the air’ before Nigel gets in, Bernard declares that he’s never had sexual relations with a post box and that he’d love to have Nigel round for dinner, where Nigel can touch his prized possession, a 1957 Orchard Lane Mounted Post Box that he calls ‘Lucy’.
