@@R-June 2000's peaked at 2007 but 2009 and 2010 were a nightmare, it took the music industry almost 4 to 6 years to recover from that. early 2000's was great, a lot of great artists put out their first albums at that time.

Yet another song stolen from a black woman and given to non-black women. SMFH! Cee-Lo Green should be ashamed of himself, but I know he only cares about the green. Honestly, I never cared for Don't Cha. Buttons was The Pussycat Dolls' best song anyway.

so robin antin (pussycat dolls creator) signed a huge deal with interscope records, and they wanted a hit to launch them off so universal decided to take the song to where they thought it could be more profitable and successful not only for the song but for the future, pcd sold over 50m records and it all stemmed from the success of dont cha. a similar thing happened with Scream and Shout (Britney and Will I Am) and tulisa

This video (and the commentary about how new, black and specifically black artists go through it in the industry) made me think about Normani. You should do a video on her journey as a solo artist. I had such high hopes for her after Fifth Harmony and to this day want to see her succeed. But I can’t help but think about whats going on behind the scenes that we may not know about... Maybe she is just taking her time with the debut album (which I totally understand)? Maybe she is being gaslighted as an artist (which I also understand)?

Tbh, I understand the marketing point of view of giving the song to young, new to the game, sexy girls that could be seen as options and stuff. I feel bad for Tori and her version probably would have been successful as well, but maybe not as popular as it was

Its not like they knew it was a hit song. Things like these happen all the time to songs that don't do anything. Also, many originals are not the popular iconic ones we know, sometimes the cover gets all the glory like with "Torn" or "I will always love you".

The Don't Cha chorus was also originally taken from the Sir Mix-a-lot album title track SWASS. Where they repeat " Don't you wish your boyfriend was SWASS like me. I'm not sayin it was stolen. I'm sure Busta and Cee-lo did it legit. But regardless it's just another interesting twist to the story.

If it helps, the song was also offered to the multi-raced British band, Sugababes who weren’t necessarily a sexed up band. They turned the record down though.

She has switched between genres multiple times and has found success in all of them. She went from an internet enigma to a well established singer/song writer. She escaped an abusive relationship and has triumphed in life and is now engaged to ghostemane and doing great in her career.. on top of that she even got nominated for a Grammy for her song! Hope you'll consider this since you do other smaller artists.

How can this possibly be about race? She's black yes but so was her producer and some of the women who got the track instead of her. I wish black people wouldn't reach for the race card every time something doesn't go their way; it's just ridiculous in cases like this.
