The Beet Shield was my first sunscreen! Krave beauty introduced me to a proper skincare routine; LOVE their products. Miss the beet shield so much 😩

The three step Clinique roped me in as a young woman but the alcohol in the second step made my skin oily and sun sensitive. Years later, Paula's Choice was the first brand that worked on my combination/oily skin. They also had skin care education that no other brand matched.

The Beat Shield was amazing, and I learned about it from Susan for sure. I remember when I ran out I bought three bottles at once (probably to hit whatever free shipping limit) and not a week later they announced they were discontinuing it. I was thrilled I’d just bought so much more of it. I can’t wait to see what Krave does next with their sunscreens because it truly was a good one. Loved this video, thanks susan!!

Thank you for calling out the “toxic” nonsense. The only one of those products I’ve tried is the Liz Earle which I suspect helped a lot people realise the benefit/joy of using a cloth to wash your face. Think my gamechanging product was Oskia’s Renaissance cleansing gel. X

I was home for the holidays from college my senior year in 2013, and I VIVIDLY remember trying the Missha cleansing oil for the first time. I was blown away. I always had oily combo skin and uses makeup wipes, but it was my first double cleanse and I could not believe how clean but soft my skin felt. Game changer. I couldn't do makeup wipes after that.

I started wearing oil of Olay moisturizer with sunscreen when I was in 7th grade. Then they came out with oil free. I wore it everyday. My mom was always telling me the importance of wearing sunscreen every single day. Still I’m stocked that so many people don’t know it’s a must to wear anytime you are exposed to the sun. They think I’m crazy.

I was hooked on skin care from the moment my mum gave me a Ponds cleanser, toner and moisturiser with Spf when I was 13 in 1994. I read all the beauty magazines religiously so my routine expanded. When I started working full-time (post studies) in 2003 and had $$$, I took everything next level. I became super interested in the science behind it all. Ultraceuticles, SK2, dermalogica favs. There isn't much now that i couldn't get back in the early 2000s... maybe a few more peptides. It is cheaper though. I Haven't had any injectables or surgery.

Yes!!! I have been so excited for a sunscreen from Naturium! I actually yelled and I’m so excited!! You got me really thinking about skincare and what I can do to help with acne that’s not so drying (dry skin and acne is hard). Your videos truly helped me grasp my skincare and I still love watching your recommendations and seeing what’s new! ❤️

So happy to hear someone mention Verso! Their night cream is the first retinol product not to give me horrible rosacea flare ups, even the granactive retinoid from the Ordinary used once a week was too much for my skin. Verso has definitely changed my skin for the better, and without dry, red and burning skin in the process ❤️

I am so happy you did this video, I love it! I'm 33 and I'm not in the skincare field but I have educated myself so much because of my skin changing over the years and just really trying to learn about each ingredient and what they are used for but not just what they are used for but also when you mix it with other ingredients it can change it completely, just like you learn in chemistry class that the periodic table, that one element could be harmless but mix a different element and it can become toxic or vise versa so I don't judge off of just one certain ingredient because with other ingredients it could be really good for me too! When you said the vitamin c with spf, I didn't know that until and 2 years ago and now I always use vitamin c with spf I love the Murad essential-C SPF because alot of SPF will break my skin out so the Murad SPF and supergoop are really the only sunscreens that don't give me acne/breakout! What is your favorite products for the thin skin around your eyes I have those little fine lines and I need a good serum/moisturizer for me fine lines around my eyes 😢?! I love your videos you are also part of the reason I really educate myself on my skincare product and your recommendations are always on my immediate buy list to try lol! I have several holy grails thanks to you and I'm so appreciative for you and your channel because my skin looks so much better now! The best skincare educator award goes to you 😘

I was forced into skin care in my teens because of my acne prone skin. Unfortunately my mom didn’t do much with skincare and I had to navigate it myself through trial and error. (These were the days of Clean & Clear astringent toner and Oxy pads 😬). There are a few milestones that really stand out for me: In middle school my doctor recommended a gentle cleaner (Spectro gel - very similar to Cetaphil) and started me on clindamycin. Another turning point was finding rose hip seed oil! It truly balanced my skin and blew me away (circa 2015?) Got Botox for the first time at 26. Now I’m 33 and thanks Tretinoin, a well rounded routine with SPF and realizing my skin was actually DEHYDRATED … my skin is better than it was in my mid 20s! 🙏🏼

I like Elemis so much, it changed my cleansing routine completely. I think that’s my only “I can’t live without it” product. It so gently removes dirts, make-up, sunscreen in 30 seconds completely. I used Rose one first cause I have sensitive skin, now I’m using the original one (yellow one) For me it’s the opposite, the original one is way too scented for me, it’s too strong. I can’t wait to wash my face to get rid of the strong smell :)) Once I’m done with this I’ll get the Rose one again. I also use CE Ferulic, it really works. One of the best product I’ve met in the last year again.. And I’m so interested in giving a chance to Caudalie, I’ll try their creams soon once I’m done with mine 😊

So many of the same! The soy facial cleanser was the first one I ever used (besides cetaphil) that was gentle! My skin LOVED it! & also the beet shield 😢 what a heartbreak. She shipped fast, felt nice, and was a good price! RIP. Fun fact: I know the reasoning it was pulled but one summer I wore this on my face and a popular drugstore sunscreen brand on my body to the beach. My face- 0 redness or burn but my body nearly blistered. So if anyone ever had doubts, I can attest to how well the beet shield worked!

Mine was after using Innisfree around 2014. I used their Lime sheet masks and I just loved how lightweight it was and I really didn't like my freckles back then and wanted to get rid of them. It wasn't until later in life when I just absolutely adored it. It wasn't the freckles that were the problems, but it was the acne that made my freckles look unappealing.

Honestly giving in to one of those spammy aprilskin ads is what started it all. I was 30 years old and never really had a skin care routine and then I learned all about it and was like wtf have i been doing with my life?🫢 I was super amazed by the results with their calendula cleanser & peel off mask, as well as the carrotene clarifying serum. Been broke these days but can't wait to try their artemisa line one day 🤞

For me it was the skincuticals vit c, sk2 essence, Eve Lom cleansing balm, Paulas choice retinol 1%, Bobbi Brown moisturising balm. The only one of those I’m still using years on is the Eve Lom but once I’m finally at the end of the 200ml I’m using now I think I’ll be ready to move on to something different in its place, likely the Tatcha cleansing oil as I’ve been enjoying a lot of their products.

The Elemis pro cleansing balm still rocks.my.world. I still get giddy when Ulta puts it on their 21 days of beauty sale for 1/2 off. There is just something about the whole experience of that product - the texture, the color, the packaging, the towel that it comes with that just made cleansing a real ritual for me. It really changed my mind about makeup removal and how that could be a gentle but effective experience. It also got me to discover other cleansing balms and products like Banilla and DHC, all of which I use to this day.

Why the think dirty app and the concept of knowing toxic ingredients bothers you? I don’t get it. I use the app and avoid some ingredients, not all of them, not all products, but some of the most problematics (I had nailpolish allergies so I always check if there is no toluene, formaleide, petrolatum, etc). I would like to understand better why you disaprove it! Sorry for my bad english!
