I think the world as a whole misses the iconic steam whistle. What an amazing sound.

It is great to see her back in operation. There are not many compounds operating. If I remember correctly she was built for the Little River RR in Townsend, TN and was too big for them and went to the Pacific coast of Oregon. This is a favorite locomotive.
@chehalisvalleyrailproducti89135 жыл бұрын
That's right. After Little River rejected her she was returned to Baldwin and then sent to the Columbia River Belt Line Railway in Blind Slough OR as number 126. After a 10 year stint in on the CRBL (And one year with the Larkin-Green Logging Co. in Blind Slough), 126 went to Carlisle-Pennell Lumber Co. out of Onalaska WA for four years and became number 7 before going to Carlisle subsidiary Newaukum Valley Railroad (Still as 7) for another six years. Number 7 was then leased to the Mud Bay Logging Co. in Olympia for a year before going back to Carlisle. for two years. Number 7's final assignment was at the Deep River Logging Co. in Deep River WA for 22 years before her derailment in 1955.

Awesome seeing Skookum on my favorite railroad. The #25 is one of my top 5 favorite locomotives. Just down the line where the passenger trains don't operate they have a fantastic "Railriders" organization that people use pedal powered vehicles that go to Tillamook. That whistle salute at the end was fantastic.

Awesome little articulated and definitely a early Baldwin catalog engine. What a EBT articulated would have looked like IF they went larger than their Mikados. Definitely a timeless classic and slide valve too!

A live steam friend showed me this video yesterday. For me, it is a dream come true! Knew it was being restored, but I heard this for decades. At last it has happened! I have modeled this locomotive in HO and G scale Live Steam, I just LOVE IT! I must see it some time SOON! I understand it will be touring the country, is this true? If so, where do I get a schedule. One other thing, is Skookum an oil burner now? BTW, Thank you, Hampton for showing me this.
