The film's action director, real life martial arts master and frequent Kung Fu movie actor, Huang Ha recently passed away (RIP.) Fu movie fans will know him as the main villain in Encounters Of The Spooky Kind but he was in a ton of films. Yuen Siu Tien aka "The Drunken Master" aka Sam Seed was doubled by Chien Yuet Sang & Brandy Yuen most of the time, I still love him though. Huang Ha was also responsible for the equally awesome, Thundering Mantis which starred Leung Kar Yan and featured Chien Yuet Sang as the Master.

This film was made before Thundering Mantis, it was action directed by Wong Ha (as was Thundering Mantis) - a real life martial arts master (who sadly died last year) and regular Sammo Hung collaborator. You'd probably recognise him as the main villain in Encounters Of The Spooky Kind.

Yuen Siu Tien is "this guy" - father of the Yuen clan (Yuen Woo Ping, Yuen Shun Yi, Yuen Cheung Yan etc),legends of Kung Fu cinema. Siu Tien himself was in the classic Wong Fei Hung films starring Kwan Tak Hing and is visible (bald) in Heroes Of The East Aka Shaolin Challenges Ninja (1978).

It's funny. Finaly an old school movie where many of the moves look reasonably possible. As applicable to parameters of the scenes, fighters. No triple windmill spinning multi-yard attacks all in one move. At least while the old guy was fighting. Silly the pretending to do yoga poses shows mastery of kungfu. Lock ups don't exactly prove mastery either. But in general( aside from overly dramatic reach to the stars mouth noises) well done fight. Big brother, chimmy chonga style. Bong goo
