Interesting video, perhaps the weakest lens in the Pentax 67 line-up, is still a terrific lens that really gives us options in a tight space like a garage/workshop. I have 45mm myself and can give a little advice; F4 for focusing, F5.6 and beyond for shooting!

Perfect intro as usual! Nice video and this shoot in particular is just awesome. The links between the atmosphere, the universe, the place and the model are one. About the lens, I can't give you my opinion yet because I haven't yet had the opportunity to shoot with a medium format. I dream of trying it one day. Looking forward to seeing the next video!

Man, you know I'm a HUGE fan. That said, when I saw your location, all I could think was, what a lighting challenge. Low ceilings, tight space, and all that machinery would make it problematic to do it justice without a bunch of small lights strategically placed throughout the room and likely moved for each setup. Do I dare say I've been there and done that? But you went in another direction to make it your own using only one spotlight. The pictures were dope. The 45mm lens for the Pentax was one of my favorites when shooting that system for magazines. Back then, I carried two bodies, the 45, 55, 105, and 200mm as my standard kit. While walking around, I had the 45 and 105 on my cameras with the others in a shoulder bag. Add my trusty Minolta meter and a brick of 120 Ektachrome, and I was ready for the day. I wonder why my back is a wreck now? Keep on being you. As Mister Rogers said, "There is only one like you in the whole world."

The best X-pan alternative. I’ve been hand making 35mm rolls with 120 backing paper to shoot ultra wide shots with this lens and it absolutely bangs. The only downside is the rolls last quite a long time…. Which is why I invested in a second Pentax 67 body.

As a medium format shooter, I shoot portraits with the 80mm, kind of the standard kit lens for my camera. But, I do have the 45mm. While that is not a great portrait lens, it does work good for multiple people in frame. So, each of my lens have a specific purpose.

I have this set up P67 with a 45. My favorite portraits are wide but it’s tricky so the hard and fast rules for me are: don’t shoot at eye level, either above eye level or low watch the distance, too close and the model grows larger noses, legs, arms and hands, too far back and you lose them in the background Keep the hero of the image closer to center cause the outer edges will distort Show your model the framing they will be in so they can extend their body to fill the space Then after all that break the rules. Wide lens portraits aren’t meant to be pretty they are meant to be cool.

Who the hell ain't rocking with your shit? You dropping bombs every video. This was hot, as is your norm. Shots on point, video on point. Always all good. I feel like wide angle is slept on in medium format. Not in large format or 35mm. Those guys always use wide angle lenses. Especially street photographers with their 35mm SLR cameras and rangefinders. Whether they shoot film or digital, those dudes never really go above 40mm. Large format guys, I think every one of them have at least one wide. As of late, I have been using a wide on my Pentax 6x7 (55mm F3.5) and I've been using macro tubes to get super close. So I been at both extremes, super wide and super tight. Appreciate ya. Thanks always.
