For those wondering about using soul sand, honey, or water to make the horse even slower, we did test with all of those and couldn't get slower than 0.014 blocks/second. Surprisingly, once you're traveling through cobwebs, being on honey or soul sand doesn't actually make you any slower. This is even true if you're not on a horse. While pushing against water does slow you down if you're moving forward, it slows you down TOO much if you're moving backwards and you can't actually move at all. Additionally, turtle master doesn't actually have any effect when you're in water because it seems to only affect walking speed, and you're technically not walking when you're in even a little bit of water.

Dang. I remember soul sand and ice used to be the ideal strategy, with blue ice making it even slower. Did they patch that?

I think i have another idea.... what about damage tick? like fire or poison tick? would the interruptions of the tick slow you down further?

In 1783, James Watt created the term of “horsepower” to describe power of the industrial revolution. Watt defined one horsepower as the amount of work required from a (draft) horse to pull 150 pounds out of a hole that was 220 feet deep. Watts calculated the kinetic energy as 33,000 ft-lb per minute. This is approximately equal to 746 Watts. Assuming it's an average draft horse it would weigh about 900kg. Morris is clearly not a draft horse. He's the lowest of lows. We'll assume he's 300kg horse. In conclusion: Morris has like a 1/3th of a horsepower. About 250W. This is not a joke. It's facts

Also the max horsepower a horse can produce is 15 which is enough to power a 10 watt led lightbulb for 1 hour as long as the horse does 15 hp for 3 seconds

It should also be noted that the concept of horsepower isn't entirely accurate to the power of a real horse, since it's the average of a full day of working, not the power a horse can put out at any given moment. Actual horses are capable of well over one horsepower when working. A recent YT video on it tested a light draft horse and got 5.7 from him. Morris is capable of roughly 1/17th of what that real horse managed.

A fantastic idea, and the execution was so good- i loved the editing during the race. Bdubs was so dynamic, and in comparison the part where the music stopped and the camera stopped and we just watched Morris pixel across the screen made me laugh!

Fun fact, there is a minimum speed in Minecraft, and with enough combined slowness you just completely stop. I have to assume that was all taken into account.

Hey Zadaph, I think you can crush your distance fallen record with the help of horses! In my tests, fall damage is halved when riding an animal (even if the mount doesn't survive the fall). Although I only tested ~8000 blocks, I'm assuming it should allow you to survive a 9007 block fall. The big problem then is being able to get an animal up ~9000 blocks, getting on, and then landing on a hay block. It would probably require leads and rockets, or some special TNT player/horse launcher, and might be too difficult to achieve in survival without making a massive hay pile so you can't miss.

Zedvancement idea: a sense for scents. Have both a sniffer and a warden sniff every Mob at least once without anything dying. You do not have to do it all in a row; if a mob dies, you only have to redo that mob.
