These kind of MREs are actually originated from Korean army's combat ration. In mid 2010s outdoor camping became popular in Korea and combat rations somehow got out of the army(due to expiration etc) became popular. Companies started making those rightaway and started to compete, resulted in unique flavors and adding noodles etc.

2:20 The thing that made the egg end up like that, is that the pan was not centered. It was lying in an angle, causing the oil and the egg to turn to the left.

this is good for survival food or when hot thing is not an option. you could add water, leave there, prepare your tent and everything and then eat it cold food is kind of popular in south korea anyway tho.
