I’m really enjoying your videos! Your approach to track modelling feels so much like my own. To just keep picking away at it. I love picking out ties or parts of track with a paint brush late at night. There’s a certain meditative value to the work.

Aside from holding myself accountable to those watching, I’m holding myself accountable to myself to making sure I dedicate a modicum of time to myself. It’s easy to surrender in front of the telly after a long day of responsibilities but rewarding ourselves a few minutes of something we can be proud of and that shows progress goes a long way for self-esteem and wellbeing. Looking forward to learning when I’ll get to see yours! Thanks for the feedback.

Those tracks look stunning! The slowest way may be the best way.

Beautiful work and extremely smooth running trains! I still haven't tackled painting anything but the foam base. Which is the slowest way period...

Thanks for the feedback! Slow and steady wins the race, and judging from how meticulous you are it will yield an amazing and reliable result.

Thank you! It was slow and methodical but the end results were worth it. I appreciate your positive feedback!

Exactly. It breaks down the uniform look and gives it a "life-like" effect.

Answer to your question was it worth it ? Definetly yes. For years i have had ATLAS code 100 track in standard black ties one occasion i discovered brown ties which i happened to find at a train shop in the 1990's very rare, I have to this writing. I wish they would do them again. But your project is worth it by all means. This gets an A + ✅🤗

Thanks! I appreciate your thoughts on that. I don’t have the skills to lay my own track even for something so small! I’ve never seen brown Atlas track but that sounds amazing for that reliable type of track!

Great vid, yeah, mr. Mindheim indeed. His views on putting emphasis on detail is amazing. The way you approached aging your sleepers, tie plates, rails and so on, really makes the scene stand out. Even though the scene, for now, only shows the rails. Am wondering if you learned the whitening technique as a base from Joey Ricard? I personally can’t get enough of his vid on first changing track into a …. Thanks 🙏 for sharing.

Thank you for your feedback! Lance recommends painting the track first with a light gray rattle can, then applying a brown wash over it. I used a white acrylic wash first and then a brown wash and this appeared to work. Please tell me more about Joey, what does he change his track into?

Grazie!

How do you like the Rapido uncouplers ?
@SouthDown3 жыл бұрын
I don’t mind them, albeit I do eventually change all couplers to Kadee #5 mostly because my anal retention demands high performance coupling. Thanks for asking!
