Thanks for the review. The AirPurifier is in use on my side for the last two months. Do you know of any smart fans with native Apple Home support that you would also recommend? All I could find up to now uses HomeBridge or a standalone app of the company which I both rather would like to avoid. Kind regards from Germany

Hi, as far as I’m aware there are currently no fans with native HomeKit support. There was one brand that made a single HomeKit version, but it was only on sale in Asia, and was hard to find even then, and not reliable. The Xioami models aren’t HomeKit compatible either, but they will work with Siri Shortcuts, and if you have an Aqara hub used in Mi Home, you can also control the fans with HomeKit compatible Aqara buttons, switches and sensors.

Some people (like me) have the problem with really annoying noise on low speed. On the video everything is OK, but as I can see on reddit I'm not only one with this issue. So I dont recommend to buy it.

Do have a link to the comments you mention on Reddit or the subreddit the comments were made in? I did a search on Reddit but can’t seem to find anything matching your description in relation to this particular Smartmi model.

I think tvoc thing has fix. I just buy one and update it. yesterday i spray alcohol in my room, the fan was kick on.

@@miracoli16 Smartmi stated that the TVOC Sensor is not actually exposed to HomeKit, so the AQI in the Home app is only a reflection of Pm2.5 readings. They didn’t answer my question regarding why the fan speed didn’t go up to full speed when the VOC levels were at their highest. Btw, one of these ‘?’ Is enough, you don’t need more.

Hi, neither the temperature or humidity levels from the built-in sensor are exposed to HomeKit, so you can only see data for these two sensors in the Smartmi app.

Hi, yes that was a question I asked myself soon after I got it. The filters they sell are actually the same size as the filters that fit the standard size air purifiers from Xiaomi - be aware that some Xiaomi air purifiers are larger and so those filters won’t fit. I bought one and it fits perfectly. The air purifier also seemed to work without any issues.

Hi, it doesn't seem you can achieve this in either Apple Home or the Smartmi app, unfortunately. Sleep mode is almost the equivalent of the fan being set at 7%, which can be achieved as a scene or automation in HomeKit, but there is a very small difference in the sound coming from the device when it's actually set to 'Sleep' mode. Whether the difference is enough to not be useful to you I'm no sure, but it doesn't seem enough of a difference in volume to be a problem for me personally.

@@Hermania3000 you can use the auto setting in scenes and automations within HomeKit, jist not the Sleep mode. It’s hard to say whether sleep mode would be fine 24/7 as pollution levels vary from country to country, but where I live usually it wouldn’t be powerful in sleep mode to cope with medium pollution levels.

I think they’re both much the same on the inside, as they’re made by the same company, but I’ve not tried any of Jya’s products, so I can’t say for sure which is better.

I think if you want a purifier for a small bedroom, you should consider the Smartmi P1, as they sell a filter specifically for pollen. It’s also compact and comes with a carry handle. It’s usually on sale as well, so you can often buy it for just a bit over $100.

Thanks Graham. Smartmi’s website currently says that it’s coming to Europe soon. I’m assuming that would also mean the U.K., but looking at amazon.co.uk, it looks like they haven’t any of their products there, so I’m not sure. The previous model, the P1 was widely available, so hopefully it’ll sell in stores other than Amazon.
