"Captain Jack's Bowser best Ken's Marth." That's crazy. One of the most interesting things to me about Smash is the way that the competitive scenes differ internationally, but especially between North America and Japan. Granted the Japanese players had the distinct advantage of knowing DI first early on, but it seems like even today Japanese players play more diverse sets of characters.
@PAPASTAIN8 жыл бұрын
+EXM when looking into smash history, it's wild that japan didn't get a massive advantage over us. if you learn the historical context of wobbling, japanese players already found it by mid 2002 but nobody used it effectively until wobbles came around

I'm really suprised that directional input took so long for people to discover in Smash. That always felt really obvious from the beginning, to me.
@SonicPrototype8 жыл бұрын
Really? I'm the opposite. It took my longer to realize that you get even better results if you DI on the first frame of a hit. I always assumed constant DI was the only thing you can do for the longest time.
@dmoney83548 жыл бұрын
It's kind of obvious, but most people probably thought DI'ing in the opposite direction was the best. Which it isn't.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. We're talking about a four-hour-long documentary about a competitive scene that mainstream folks and "hardcore gamers" alike scoff at. Don't get me wrong, I love this doc. This is my third or fourth time watching it. But I think most people would not be interested in it at all.
@JackLoveday9 жыл бұрын
Eli Mullis no sarcasm, this is intense, everyone is so emotionally invested. it doesnt matter what the game is, the story of these people is amazing. i just watched ep3 and now feel even stronger about this.
@elim90549 жыл бұрын
It is a very well-done documentary. The only part of it I don't like is the beginning, where it breaks down the most basic mechanics of the game like the viewer has never played Smash before. It's so cheesy. Other than that it's excellent.
