Yeah, Melee All Star mode on Very Hard is literally a RNG fest of Hell on Earth due to how many factors can screw you over in just a single second, and yeah, you REALLY have to rely on those bogus AI moments to defeat them (heck, for instance I use that in classic mode whenever I fight any of the 2 possible Metal Marios in the battle before Master Hand as both Marios has a big AI flaw to go for the air forward smash without thinking of how they can return to the field without SD when you grab on the ledge of the stage).
