Young Link could be higher, but the current top 25 is very difficult to surpass. For adult Link, I think he is fine where he is. The character has stagnated significantly post-quarantine and has not contributed much in terms of high levels results for a long time.

The problem with tier lists is that the vast majority of these top players don't even know the full roster in the game, let alone touch any of these characters. So these lists become a huge "what is winning tournaments lately" and "what I suck against" very quickly, without taking time to actually consider the pros and cons of each fighter. In other words MID list...

Parrying cloud bair is a really good way to stop a lot of his pressure. The issue is that Sparg0 is is constantly varying timing of his bair because he knows that you need a parry to punish him. Sparg0 walls you out with variably timed bairs and then randomly goes for a super hard read. Sparg0 the individual also very well might be the best at keeping other top players in the corner. His reaction to visual stimuli when you are choosing a ledge option is absurdly fast. I seriously think that is Sparg0 picked up Minmin then no one would ever get off the ledge against him again.

@@Judeinator9001 Steve is only barely broken when compared to his predecessors. Ultimate is far more balanced as a game than any previous game. Steve being broken is mainly due to hitstun cancel. If not for that, then it might be more reasonable to argue Pyra and Mythra are the best character in the game, and they actually have real weaknesses despite how good they are.

@@christianmedina4107 That’s the point you judge the character by the character rather than the people playing them. For example Yoshidora pushing Yoshi even higher. Yoshi was always capable of that it’s not like Yoshidora downloads his own patch notes. Results aren’t accurate they’re just relevant. It’s why these tier lists always change like ESAM changing his mind over and over because we see the character through the lens of their players. Then again I don’t blame pros not wanting to put work into a unique or rare character they want fast results or just to play for fun. Like a world without light fox isn’t that high but that doesn’t mean fox couldn’t do what he’s doing now. So maybe this perspective is relevant but it’s extremely blind.

However, only ten panelists rated their main within the character’s outlier range, and two of these were Steve mains who agreed with the majority of panelists about the character being #1. No panelists were a lower outlier on a character they actively mained, though the same could not be said for ex-mains." Everyone is biased, as it's impossible for a human being not to be so. We can agree on the strongest characters, but from rank A to D its absolutely biased and doesn't mean anything.

Yoshidora, Suarez, Ron... there are quite a bit of good Yoshi players. However I feel Yoshidora's prominence in Japan is a bit understated. The region as a whole believes Yoshi is top 10 thanks to him, which influenced the character's tier placement significantly.

Ike is really good, if your opponent doesn't space and/or just swings. You beat him by avoiding his few kill setups and getting him offstage.

Latin America has a very high opinion on Min Min. Fun fact, in terms of the voting score, Palutena and Min Min is the only tie in the entire list. Ppl like saying cloud isn’t good bcuz his recovery isn’t but he has one of the best neutrals that make his onstage presence more dominant than 90% of the roster. That’s why he’s top tier. Spargo has so much success with that character because he abuses Cloud’s best moves with versatility and precision so I think he def deserves his spot and I’m a Wolf main.

What’s crazy is that if you compare anyone from A+ and lower, cannot even contest with the S+ tier. It’s such a crazy uphill battle. Like who’s gonna argue from A+ and below can even fight Steve? Like Samus or Terry? I can see Sephiroth MAYBE, but Steve is mad busted. Or anyone fighting the other top 3? Aegis and Joker are mad busted with barely any weaknesses when played near perfect. It’s so crazy. This game is still balanced, but it’s such a gap from S+ to A tier

Fox relies too much on actual player skill to be S Tier. Ask Light how he feels when he loses; actually, you can visibly see a good amount of his reactions when he loses and it usually isn't good. Pit(Regular Only) definitely is better than Falco but Pit is often forgot about. Sora is mainly good online. Young Link is way better than Olimar. Ryu shouldn't even be next to Sheik or Ken because Ryu plays too slow and usually they're lame. Wario isn't better than either Samus'. People still don't know the Wario MU for some reason.
