This is the full version of Drown by Smashing Pumpkins, including the full feedback solo
Lyrics:
No matter where you are
I can still hear you when you drown
You've traveled very far
Just to see if I'll come around
When I'm down
All of those yesterdays
Coming down
No matter where you are
I can still hear you when you dream
You traveled very far
You traveled far, like a star
And you are
All of those yesterdays
Coming down
Is it something someone said?
Was it something someone said?
Yesterday the sky was you
And I still feel the same
Nothing left for me to do
And I still feel the same
I wish, I wish I could fly
I wish, I wish I could lie
I will, I will try
I will, I will
Goodbye

This song takes me back to my University years. Riding in the car with Kate, singing at the top of our lungs. Young, free, full of life and love. I miss you Kate. RIP...

Listening to this makes me remember that once not too long ago bands made music without a thought as to how marketable their work was to radio airtime. Art(music)for it's own sake. Thanks Despondent I'm a little less so after listening to this.

Smashing Pumpkins made music that spoke to my soul more than any other music in my lifetime. When I hear it it takes me back to some of my most influential memories. Very sentimental to me.

I was 17-18-19 when the early grunge stuff took over in 92-94, and I always loved Billy's guitar sound and style the most. What an amazing few years to be a teenager. I listened to this for the first time in a few years today and even teared up in the into for a moment. This music is so deep inside me all these years later. Even if I walk away from it for many years. After 25+ years, in an instant, I am 17 again. There is a line in John Mellencamp's Jack and Diane when he says "after the thrill of living is gone". Though we move on, we never feel the thrill of life like we do when we are 16-19. Then I hear this again and instantly, I REMEMBER HOW I FELT AND WHO I WAS.

I was 10 when siamese dream came out but it's still my favorite album of all time. Just wish Billy didn't lose his passion. I'm still gonna see them on tour this summer but the new stuff is meh and they're riding on the nostalgia feels without trying it seems.

This song is perfect in every way. IMHO, the best Smashing Pumpkins song out of their outstanding catalogue and one of the best songs of the 90s. Utter genius, from the first solo with those amazing notes sliding in opposite directions all the way to the feedback solo. I could hear this song a million times.

It is a miracle in the history of rock and roll that this song was made, enjoyed, and then even played (full and unedited) on the radio. Speaks to not only a different time period in music, but to a different type of listener.

I was just a kid in the 90's but I had an older brother and he loved Smashing Pumpkins as well as many other bands from that era so i got exposed to good music early. Now everything that's popular just sucks. I'm in the third decade of my life and of all 22 years, the 90's will always be the best. Maybe one day good music will replace the generic "have somebody write my lyrics and I'll auto-tune my voice to them" that plays on the radio. Until then, thank you 90's!!

I remember hearing this band for the first time after moving to SC from the Northwest. I told my gf who worked at a radio station that this was going to change music forever. At the time Poison and Damn Yankee's were making it big and the "NEW" band was the Black Crows. Nirvana might have put grunge on the map, But Smashing Pumpkins gave the Alternative namesake a place to call home. They were our generations WHO. Love everything about them.

@cglawrence I remember the first time I saw these guys was at Lollapalooza '94 here in Vancouver. Some guy in one of my classes in highschool was ranting about this band on the radio in the days leading up to the concert. My jaw was on the floor the whole time! The light show combined with the music, the beer and the pot! The were my favorite band for the next for 4 years (until Adore). It was songs like this that made them one of the best rock bands of my generation.

@jgbuckley Jimmy is actually a jazz drummer who wound up in a rock band. But, you are right, without him SP could not rock nearly as hard. I have some of their early stuff when there was no Jimmy and just a drum machine. He transformed the sound of the band and gave it attitude. He is the bite behind Corgan's snarl.
