Don't forget about 1979...that song always makes me smile and the video rocks! Plus, you can't leave out Tonight, Tonight. I didn't like it when it came out but I fell in love with it on the Greatest Hits album.

I was lucky to see them in 95 for the Mellon collie tour, when they were the 4 original members. Great souvenirs. I still remember when it started with the piano and then Tonight, tonight. crowd went crazy

i was born in the 90s and being born in the 90s songs from smashing pumpkins, sublime, jane's addiction, etc were always playing on the radio so i grew up loving them and now i have eternal love for 90s songs/bands

the spirit of music sure has changed since the 90's. now it's all about car, money, and tail. and the rock n roll side is the same. i miss this era in my life. you know what i want a shot too now.

The 90s were a great time to grow up in as far as music goes. So many great songs and bands made it in the 90s. Disillusioned, free, cynical, dreamers, realistic, angry, different, independent, carefree, and straightforward. We were all one of those. Tthat's why we're all nostalgic.

It's hard to believe the range of Billy's vocal talents. Angelic here, demonic in Zero and everything in between. He is a babyfaced genius, able to portray so much emotion in so many ways. Plus, this is one of the few songs that can make me weep, with happiness, with despair... whichever I want. SP are just incredible.

The Smashing Pumpkins rocked so hard in Chicago back in the day it was unreal. Saw Billy in person before and after the show and the Aragon Ball Room in the Windy City never rocked so hard. They cant find music like this no matter how hard they look.

@kooorga I totally agree with you. I pretty much only listen to rock n roll, grunge, hard rock, and metal. I also listen to the occasional punk and ska. But most genres of music have totally changed for the worse such as country, rap, pop, and rock. But there have some bands that emerged in the late 90's to present day that I have really got into such as the autumn offering, disturbed, slipknot, black stone cherry, smile empty soul, arch enemy, killswitch engage, and shadows fall.

The 80's and 90's really had some awesome jams, not that today doesn't have a few, but nothing like the old days This was when MTV was actually music television and the only shows they had were Daria, The Maxx, and Celebrity Death match lol. Awesome years, awesome music.

As I understand it, the inspiration for this song came on a day when Billy had hit rock bottom. Thus it was the greatest day because he knew that every other day would be better than that one. Great way to turn a negative into a positive.

I hate how people always complain about the music that's played on the radio. There are plenty of great bands that they don't play in the radio, you just have to look and it makes it more rewarding. And if you don't like anything go make your own music.
