Billy might be only original but all of those performers are extremely talented. Hell, the lead guitarist singled-handedly used his ax and mad the sound of an entire orchestra
@EpicStuffIsEpic9 жыл бұрын
Zack Weaver Oh really? I thought that one guy was the whole orchestra (sarcasm). He was saying that the talented guitar player captured the melody of the whole orchestra. Playing it wouldn't be that hard but converting it to guitar is the difficult part.
@EpicStuffIsEpic9 жыл бұрын
Zack Weaver If you are speaking of the one off the album then yes it was recorded with a orchestra (look it up). If you are speaking about this live performance, we both already know there was only strings....

This song was the song that was going through my head the day my son was born so every time I hear it I get to relive that amazing moment
What a treat to still have 3 of the 4 originals in the band. No disrespect to other drummers that stood in for Jimmy, but his version (which is obviously the original version) is just flawless. It’s a difficult song to drum and he does so in a calm fashion. Some of the other guys got too carried away, but it’s still good. You just can’t replace Jimmy.

I remember 1995, first year of law school In Chicago, waking up to my radio alarm clock playing a new dreamy sound...it was so heavenly- euphoric and peaceful....It was the first time I heard 1979. Lol. Haha, but Tonight, Tonight was the first song played at my wedding reception and Jack was a beautiful leading partner on the floor....we would never be the same...lol...yes I got divorced, but my wedding day was still probably the best day or 2nd best day of my life. So right.

Not me. They sound awesome. Besides, Billy is the Pumpkins. Aren't most, if not all, the songs composed by him?
@MrDraven3710 жыл бұрын
Daniel Portela Yes.. most are... but without at least one other of the originals, it's just Billy Corgan and band.. if you had seen the Pumpkins at their height during Siamese, Mellon Collie, and Adore you would understand that...
@danielernestoportela10 жыл бұрын
MrDraven37 I do understand your point. But they still sound awesome live and fill me with true emotions. Not like GNR for example, that although I've always been a great fan, now the Guns aren't even 30% of what they used to be.
@MrDraven3710 жыл бұрын
Daniel Portela I get what you are saying, the bassist chick just looks bored (or is boring), maybe she is trying too hard to be D'Arcy or Melissa Auf der Maur and failing.. both those girls had distinct personalities and presence that added to the Pumpkins. Billy just overshadows the rest of this band without trying to.
@danielernestoportela10 жыл бұрын
MrDraven37 yah but the new bassist is pretty cool actually, she plays well and although she's not a headbanger, she's appealing and has this nice aura. Look for videos on her on you tube, there are a few interesting interviews. She was washing dishes at a restaurant when she got "THE call" to be in the Pumpkins. Seems like a pretty humble person.

For guitar geeks: I find it interesting Jeff and James are the designated ebow guys in the pumpkins. But I have to say, if I was lucky enough to get this gig; I would install one of those pickups that do the ebow thing. Ebows are kind of a pain in the ass hehe.

+GamersBar Another old SPer here. Why should the crowd be that into it when Billy can't be bothered to pretend like he even cares? You're being awful gracious by saying "not bad". It was too fast and had no heart. The video in the background only made the comparison to the old Pumpkins so much more obvious and the current reality so much more depressing. Maybe one day we will have a truly amazing band together again. I know it's silly but a man can dream.

I'm so tired of hearing how this is too fast and the wrong people are playing and blah blah blah. First Billy always looks bored that's how he is and will never change. Second if you want to hear the song as recorded I suggest you don't listen to any live music. And third , music is open to interpretation any time it's played, so stop complaining and enjoy
