I stand by the fact that, even when a piece of this song is taken away, it remains a masterpiece. Truly incredible how magnificent this song is.

Time is never time at all You can never ever leave Without leaving a piece of youth And our lives are forever changed We will never be the same The more you change the less you feel Believe, believe in me, believe, believe That life can change that you're not stuck in vain We're not the same, we're different Tonight, tonight Tonight, so bright Tonight, tonight And you know you're never sure But you're sure you could be right If you held yourself up to the light And the embers never fade In your city by the lake The place where you were born Believe, believe in me, believe, believe In the resolute urgency of now And if you believe there's not a chance Tonight, tonight Tonight, so bright Tonight, tonight We'll crucify the insincere tonight (Tonight) We'll make things right, we'll feel it all tonight We'll find a way to offer up the night (Tonight) The indescribable moments of your life (Tonight) The impossible is possible tonight (Tonight)

“I don't know if I will have the time to write any more letters because I might be too busy trying to participate. So, if this does end up being the last letter, I just want you to know that I was in a bad place before I started high school. Even if you didn't know what I was talking about. Or know someone who's gone through it. It made me not feel alone. And you helped me. Even if you didn't know what I was talking about. Or know someone who's gone through it. It made me not feel alone. Because I know there are people who say all of these things don't happen. And there are people who forget what it's like to be 16 when they turn 17. I know these will all be stories someday. And our pictures will become old photographs. And we'll all become somebody's mom or dad. But right now, these moments are not stories. This is happening. I am here. And I am looking at her. And she is so beautiful. I can see it. This one moment when you know you're not a sad story. You are alive. And as you stand up and see the lights on buildings and everything that makes you wonder. And you are listening to that song on that drive with the people you love most in this world. And in this moment, I swear... we are infinite.”

I had a dream about a year ago that I was walking into a theater. This theater was the most ornate thing I'd ever seen, columns with huge seashells and seaweed embedded in the columns, chandeliers everywhere, and a ton of places to sit. I looked around and there were a good 400+ people in that place. The lights dimmed, and a projector came on, so I quickly found a seat next to me. I looked to the side, only to find a couple that I knew watching the film begin, I tried to say hi but it seemed as if they couldn't hear me, which was strange to me. I watched the film play, a baby came on screen, and the baby looked familiar, in fact the film looked familiar, and as self serving as it is, it was me. I watched the tape go on for minutes and minutes as every turning point in my life showed on screen, sometimes of my perspective, and other times, someone else's. All actual memories of me going through life just like everyone else, but memories that stuck with me. At the end, the lights came on and I found out that this roomful of people, was every single person who had an impact on my life, dead or alive. But no one could see me. The only people who caught my eye were the people in the front row. The people of utmost importance to me, the people who meant the world to me. I met them up at a lake and even though I was scared they didn't see me, they did, and they greeted me. I felt so warm, and then I woke up. What was playing during the film was Tonight, Tonight. It's been my favorite song since childhood. It was an instrumental version. So I searched for one but it wasn't made until now. I have looked nonstop since. Even though the people in that front row are completely different now over me starting adulthood just last year, and even though people slipped through my fingers as I changed and it took me a while to heal and I was cynical for a while, that dream is still a big reminder of what's most important. Thank you sooo much for making this, truly.

I’ll never forget the first time I heard this song. And the album is wonderful too, but when I’d listen to 1979 I played this song and was amazed by it. Because it reminded me the time of how much I miss my little brothers so much and to this day I still miss em. I hope they get to come home one day and be away from my family who’s keeping them. I always think when I space off me and my little brothers are in space and there playing and so am I because this song would play in a ambience

The first time I ever heard this instrumental magic, was after 9-11, when FOX was promoting the World Series between the Yankees and the Diamondbacks. I instantly fell in love with it, especially seeing how they used the American Flag on it. 🇺🇲
