For me the first The Smile album is still the best one. "Speech Bubbles" and "Open the Floodgates" make me super emotional

Interesting! I actually think each one has been better than the last and I get emotional from Tiptoes, lol

I’ve been falling in love with this album for the last two weeks. It brought me to your channel - love how you engage with music, a pleasure to see! Look forward to seeing more man. Also, you should hear their second album ‘Wall of Eyes’ also released this year. It’s exquisite. (you burped with a delay as I was typing this, which was the cherry on the cake 😂)

Thom Yorke is very famous at being very dark musically and Lyrically. Thom Yorke is also very famously good at making songs sound happy but with dark Lyics as well.

The Cutout album is the third album from the Smile and the first 2 albums are great as well.
@jrusso7627Күн бұрын
All three smile albums are great (although wall Of eyes is my favorite) it’s Radiohead song writing without obsessive need to perfect it all before releasing the material … makes it more fun in a way … still want more Radiohead but happy to have 3 albums from the smile

I'm a massive Radiohead fan but for some reason The Smile hasn't done a lot for me yet. I need to keep spinning it to see if it eventually hits me.
@ThomasSelwayКүн бұрын
No where near better than Radiohead this is just 2 older musicians having a great time producing decent music

Jonny Greenwood is married to an Israeli and plays with Jarak Qaribak in his band so Dont Get Me Started might be a pushback on criticism of the Smile for not being openly against the Gaza genocide, other artists like Nick Cave have similar baggage by being politically neutral.
@mercurialno6Күн бұрын
Interesting.
@eke414621 сағат бұрын
She's not just an Israeli, she's a vehement zionist and she doesn't even try hide it. Not saying that makes Jonny one, but it's an important detail to not leave out
