I found you on Reddit and I've spent the last hour listening to your music. It is incredible, and resists the temptation to add loads of flourishes. This track is probably my favourite from the Smile's first album. On the second 'I quit' has got to be the winner. If you do try that, good luck with the start of the song 😅

Thanks so much for checking out multiple videos and sharing this comment! I do try to avoid excessive embellishments in my arrangements so I appreciate your note. I find 'I Quit' really hard to count - it's 4/4 but it constantly tries to throw you off the scent. I may get to it eventually though...

I'm working on a short film for school right now and I absolutely love your cover of Glass Eyes for its score. Do you own the rights to the cover? If so, how could we go about getting permission to use it? Thanks Alex!
@aajfranklin2 жыл бұрын
I don't own the rights to any of the songs I cover, which is why my channel is not monetised. Most of my videos get copyright notices and the original copyright holders are then free to run ads on the videos if they want. Having said that, I *personally* wouldn't object to you using this version for a student project at all. But I can't technically give you copyright permission since it's not mine to give. If you're not going to make money on it or submit it to festivals or whatever, I say go for it. Unless your school is super strict about copyright.

Impressive, with all the details in there. Thanks! (Would love to have sheet music, but as far as I understand, you don't do that?)
@aajfranklin2 жыл бұрын
You understand correctly! I don't use or write sheet music - it would be a big extra time commitment and I already have trouble finding the time to do one recording a fortnight as is. Sorry to disappoint and thank you for the kind words!
