You either don't know the pain of f12 or 11 being Neutral ducked into a heavy punish. That's why we cry for a mid start up string, to beat mf that duck. The low is good and all but it can be upblocked

As a smoke player I can confirm he’s good. No he doesn’t need a faster overhead, and no he doesn’t need plus cancels. If it were up to me I would remove some gaps and speed up his armor so it wasn’t so ass but he’s solid. He does require some work though; messing up the cancel can be the difference between continuing his mindgames and straight up losing, and his safe jump setups aren’t auto timed and need to be executed perfectly.

A character not having a mid and has easy gimmicks to read definitely needs to have a small buff imo.

@ he has a mid with his low( although not the greatest because it’s not very active but still functional) and it’s not really gimmicks when you have to guess invisible mix, especially when he can cancel the overhead now with his new cancel. But like I said I’d like to see some gaps removed and his armor to be slightly better. I think he should have the shake special from mk9 but people might riot over that and it’s not really necessary.

Smoke is good but the problem is it’s just some characters are way better than him in the mu , all he needs is to remove some gaps , fix the armor make it track the opponent because sometimes it whiffs , fix the bugs of the air cancel make B2 crush low pokes because sometimes he get interrupted for a full combo because the enemy mashed

Subzero is not downplayed. Slowest projectile in the game and the most amount of useless skills in his kit. Not to mention, slow as fuuuuuuuck.

Sub is a counter hit corner mix up character , most people just try and rush down with him and forget he has a mid projectile and and use his kameos to skip neutral or force mix ups

With no significant plus frames, reactable mix, no mid of any kind, slow armor, upblock and armor gaps out the ass, and cancels that end his turn after they’re done, I think he sucks. Not to mention you’re playing a horrible match up for Smoke with Ermac.

Smoke is a beast at low level he is probably top 5 but at higher level you have to play him very different which takes a lot more skill and strategy that’s why I stopped maining him an it turned out I’m best with Sindel but I don’t feel proud about it as she is like top 5 since launch I just like the way she looks though

@ actually he has 3 sources of plus frames, two of which aren’t even worth mentioning. And F4 is all highs so you can just duck it. And the cancels are fake and not plus at all. Nothing is already considered a contender for Top 5. I think his biggest issue is maybe just lack of a good projectile. The low one is pretty slow and when he doesn't have the life lead he has to work his way
