19:30 To sum up the carson thing, carson told lunch club about a year ago that he was sexting a 17 year old. The vast majority of his friends (barring slimecicle I believe) believed carson when he said it was a one time thing, and that he regretted it. Said friends went out of their way to support carson and help him out with his mental health issues, which were pretty bad after the katerino thing. Fast forward to a month ago, and it turns out that it wasn't just a one time thing, and that while his friends were trying to support him to prevent that kind of behavior, he continued to sext young fans while lying about it. After that was revealed to said friends, they all broke ties, and decided to wait until the lunch club contract expired before telling the public.

I honestly could not care less about the CallMeCarson story. 17 is legal in many US states, including my home state of Texas. Hell, 16 is legal in places like Washington. On top of that it's only a 2 year difference in age. At that point they could have been in high school at the same time which makes it totally a non-issue. As for the "power dynamic" thing, it's an idiotic ideology. It's not like he was using his "power" to get girls to send him illicit images so they could be in his videos. He was just flirting with girls he thought were attractive. I also would hardly call 19 year old Carson a celebrity. Furthermore, if you do have "power", are you only allowed to date people who are also famous or have never heard of you? What the fuck do you expect people to do? This isn't a Hollywood circle jerk where A-list celebrities exclusively date other A-list celebrities. Just because you're KZbin famous doesnt mean you HAVE to date another KZbinr or hope you find someone who doesn't know you. That's a ridiculous expectation. These girls were old enough to know what they were doing and to make that decision on their own. People are treating it like he was mind-controlling these girls and they had no agency of their own. People don't magically gain sentience the moment they hit 18. Pedos are scum of the earth but this Carson is in no way a pedo. They were around the same age range so i do not see the issue.

To me it's overblown because a two year age gap is nothing and the cp laws are a bit outdated in these specific cases in the age of the internet. A 16 year old who snaps an inappropriate pic to another 16 year old they're dating could get them BOTH arrested and tried as adults for felonies, one for distribution and one for possession. If they actually enforced those laws we'd be locking up thousands of high schoolers every year. Half the kids at the school I went to would have committed felonies. Seems crazy to me that there are states where a 60 year old can legally get physical with a 15 year old but an 18 year old and a 17 year old sending pics to each other is a federal felony. The "grooming" thing is stupid too. Carson had no power over this person and didn't threaten her, and she initiated. Carson isn't a cop or a teacher or a landlord. Saying two people have to be the exact same level of internet clout to date is absurd
