The vast majority of his friends (barring slimecicle I believe) believed carson when he said it was a one time thing, and that he regretted it. Said friends went out of their way to support carson and help him out with his mental health issues, which were pretty bad after the katerino thing. Fast forward to a month ago, and it turns out that it wasn't just a one time thing, and that while his friends were trying to support him to prevent that kind of behavior, he continued to sext young fans while lying about it. After that was revealed to said friends, they all broke ties, and decided to wait until the lunch club contract expired before telling the public.

I honestly could not care less about the CallMeCarson story. 17 is legal in many US states, including my home state of Texas. Hell, 16 is legal in places like Washington. On top of that it's only a 2 year difference in age. At that point they could have been in high school at the same time which makes it totally a non-issue. To me it's overblown because a two year age gap is nothing and the cp laws are a bit outdated in these specific cases in the age of the internet. A 16 year old who snaps an inappropriate pic to another 16 year old they're dating could get them BOTH arrested and tried as adults for felonies, one for distribution and one for possession. If they actually enforced those laws we'd be locking up thousands of high schoolers every year. Half the kids at the school I went to would have committed felonies. Seems crazy to me that there are states where a 60 year old can legally get physical with a 15 year old but an 18 year old and a 17 year old sending pics to each other is a federal felony.
