My main problem is PLL recognition actually. I have some long pauses or U3 stuffs after finishing OLL and I feel like it's very hard for me to now know PLL recognitions from any other angle apart from the standard ones as I have been used to recognising the particular PLL from only a single angle for such a long time :( It's the main reason + bad cross to F2L transition(I am working on cross to F2L transition so it's ok I guess) which is stopping from me to avg sub-10.

Tilt the cube down towards you before doing U moves. All you need to see is really two edges and the four corners

I can relate so much !! PLL recognition and cross/F2L transition are my biggest flaws 😅 I average 20 and my pb is 14.72

Tip in f2l: if you see a corner on top and an edge inserted, when the corner is not on top of the edge and they're both the same color if you look at them from one face, then its not gonna connect colors when you put them together so this should let you know that it narrows it down to lesser cases.

I don't do look ahead but when it's last pair last 2 pairs last 3 I see other pieces predict what the color of the other pice from my blind spot (the back layer) then do f2l but some times it isn't accurate thats also why I identified what you were doing wrong on the example from the start also doing this kind of prediction is only recommended for last pair or last 2 if your not doing look ahead yet but for front slots you can kind of track pieces from the back and you can do the same for cases you can do at lightning speed

One question if anyone is able to help, when you give the F2L example of the corner and the edge with mis-matched colours in the back face, I am assuming this first requires you to know for certain what the other colour is on the edge piece? For example the tops could be mis-matched red and green, but can you only apply this technique if you've looked ahead and know the edge is the green/red edge? What if, for example it happens to be the green/yellow edge? Probably a self-explanatory answer but I don't want to be missing out on some big recognition trick that I somehow didn't know about! I mean, I know I could rotate or bring the pieces to the front but that defeats the purpose of being able to recognise cases in the back. Thanks! :)

Ideally look ahead, but that doesn't necessarily mean seeing the back slotted edge. It could mean knowing that all the U-layer edges have yellow, and therefore the F2L edge must be in the back slot.

Yes, defintly get a magnetic cube. They help a lot for turning because they help mitigate overshooting, thus avoiding some lockups. Unrealeatd unless you are going to a comp, but it fella really good to finish pll at the speed of god and drop the cube... and the cube is perfectly cube shape because magnets
