you're so right, I could listen to him talk for hours. Which I guess is literally what I'm doing right now just clicking on any interview I can find of him. I'd def follow him into battle. He just has such a lucid soberminded articulation about everything.

Fincher is my hero. Had the pleasure of working on one of his films. Meeting him was like meeting Elvis to me. A perfect filmmaker.

I love watching interviews with directors, and Fincher is one of my all time favorites. However, for whatever reason, I haven't watched an interview with him until now. He always looked so intimidating, and just his name sounds intimidating to me. But after watching this, he's really anything but. He seems like a really nice guy. Which only adds to how much I like him.

david fincher is the best director of all time in my opinion. he inspires me to want to pursue my dreams of becoming a film director. i wish he could mentor me, or i wish i could work on one of his movies. he's truly a visionary.

@ZachClooney very lucky indeed. he was definitely relaxed yet always in control on set. saw him get mad only once but he was usually nice and gave nice compliments. everyone respected him and certainly did their best for him. his attention to detail and his journey for perfection was inspiring. had some nice talks with him and was fortunate enough to start a professional relationship with an actor he works with quite often, Richmond Arquette. we co-wrote a film together called "Stanley DeBrock"

I was listening to just the audio of this so when it ended with "I guess we were 13 or 14 years old", I thought Fincher was pausing and having a fucking existential crisis

@ElTuco84 it was definitely a wonderful experience. glad i could share it and it is great that Fincher is starting to get the recognition he deserves in the last few years.

@ilovepanslabyrinth Agree completely with what you say. Listening to Fincher all day is a real education, not just in cinema, but also in life-management. Love what he says about putting in over ten years to feel completely confident.

Are you insane ? Watch Se7en, Fight Club, Zodiac, Benjamin Button, Social Network, Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and say those movies dont have proper character motivation or narrative structure. Stick to your generic Hollywood blockbusters with explosions and plot twists every second if you dont have the patience to watch character driven films that Fincher makes.

For a guy that has made some really intense movies (Alien 3, Fight Club, Se7en and now The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) he seems so mild mannered and normal

tranquelmischief it's not a bad movie, it's just that fincher's movies are too good, so it pales in comparison to his other movies
