Another tip I use regularly is to keep an extra piece of string in my pocket so I don't have to go back to the truck. On really big jobs I might even fillup one of those empty 2 gallon 2 stroke bottles with my fuel mix incase I happen to run out.

Good video I think everybody needs a bucket in the enclosed trailer other than that you're going to be stopping at gas stations a lot or just opening up the door and it's only a matter of time before you get busted not really a good PR look but I get it you got to do what you got to do

Next season (Season 3 for me on my solo route), I'll be looking to increase the percentage of my weekly mowing. Less than half (12 out of 28 properties) are currently weekly, but some flip flop during the season if it's too dry and hot 🔥 and their lawns are growing too well. I want to try and sneak that number up to 20+ weekly mowings. Weekly mowings are always the bread 🍞 and butter 🧈 of my business. God bless to all of you.

Always trim in one direction. I go counterclockwise cuz the trimmer cuts better. Start at the truck and go around the whole house/fence and you will end where you started with no wasted time. I use all these cheat codes. You were actually blowing grass all over the street and sidewalk as you were promoting a chute blocker. Haha. I thought that was funny.

I'm a new subscriber from Indiana. I notice your Stan on fits through gates, but you still use it on bigger yards. I have 5 yards, no gates and currently use a Fwrris FW 15 ( 32") walk behind. I'm looking to get a sit down or stand on for next season. I have been looking at 48-52 . Should I stay smaller. My longest yard with the FW 15 is 1 hr.

Never side discharge. Mulch it. Cleanup is so much easier. Gator blades keeps us from having to blow any clumps as there are none.

We also “blow the leaves under” when trimming hedges along with running them over with the mower.
@kerrypearson28482 ай бұрын
I mow in a sub division and do several different yards there. I’ll take a powerful hand held blower and use my mower for transporting me to the different yards. I’ll blow the main driveways with my mower by turning my blades on and going in reverse. I’ll then take my hand blower and do the rest. Much faster than walking all over the neighborhood with my backpack.

Great info. I disagree on operator controlled discharge though, I prefer a full mulch kit with mulching blades ive found it gets the best and cleanes5 cut, provided the grass isn’t to overgrown.
@FloridaTurfPros2 ай бұрын
that's my main thing with a full mulch kit.... sometimes we really want to get that grass out from underneath the deck if there's a cleanup... great point though!
@BigRedServicesLLC2 ай бұрын
@@FloridaTurfPros for sure. I think a lot of it depends on types of properties, I’ve handled mine with both and mulch kit works a lot better for mine.

I agree. Mulching blades and mulch kit.
@Tx.19872 ай бұрын
As a solo operator I do all of the above.. and also a controversial topic is that a weedeat first it reduces blowing at the end and leaves a cleaner look! especially on bi/weekly properties it will throw out long clipping, leafs out so the mower can mulch them 😏

Dude I've been watching your channel and i just realized you're located out there in Pace, FL. Im down here now in Navarre, FL because i just got out of the Army and now im going to school full time. I got me a push mower and a decent edger/trimmer just knocking out a handful of clients of week while attending classes. Looking forward to being as successful as you one day and love the channel.

Sweet video! 1. Bring an empty gallon to pee in during the day! 2. String trimmer line in the pocket 3. With route density ride the mower with blower/trimmer on you instead of mowing the truck

Another thing I’ve learned: using 0.080 line instead of 0.095 especilaly if you’re doing mostly weekly and well maintained properties. Especially if you’re running battery trimmers they run so much longer.
@sodangoblivious1021Ай бұрын
That is a great idea when it is not spring time. Where I am, we can see grass grow 4 to 6 inches.
@BigRedServicesLLCАй бұрын
@@sodangoblivious1021 for sure there are a lot of variables. Where I’m at (north Texas) cutting st. Augustine and Bermuda primarily plus a little zoysia it does phenomenal but I have noticed it does struggle a bit on biweekly yards and certainly wouldn’t use it for overgrown cleanup properties.

Actually another way to reduce the clippings going into flower beds,patios and such is to go along the edge so the clippings are blown into the grass

I’m full time solo and the best decision I ever made was dropping most of my residential accounts and mowing mostly commercial, and the few residentials I do have most of them don’t have irrigation. I hate yards with irrigation they are not worth it. They just slow u down. A drought is not a big deal either becsuse weeds still grow when they don’t get much rain and not to mention u save on blades, belts not having to cut very thick grass and no more clumps to run over multiple times and having to blow the yards. Irrigation sucks.

Love your videos and content man. You have taught me a ton. Question, why not use a mulch kit compared to a chute blocker?

I prefer the option of opening and closing as I need. Sometimes with really thick wet grass it’s better to just discharge and clear the deck.

Wet grass on walks and driveways is inevitable the wind can help you the wind can hurt you. Then you have the spots where you have to drive across the sidewalk to get to the grass.

I have clients that have sidewalks that are higher than the dirt by like 2 inches. So you can’t run the mower blades over the edge of the sidewalk. It sucks.

Pac-Man we've all played Pac-Man right? When you get that weed eater out think to yourself how can I weed eat this property with the least amount of steps and the least amount of doubling back? Just like a game of pac-man only instead of eating dots you want to trim that yard out as fast as possible without doubling back and wasting a bunch of time and the least amount of steps. And you always weed eat that property the same exact way.

Big fan of the trimmer as a mini blower method! Also find myself completely cutting some lawns with a trimmer as opposed to unloaded and loading a mower as well if they’re super small, caveat being we have small beach lawns where striping is not a thing whatsoever

NOT TRUE about the string trimming driveways and sidewalks! I've taken guys customers because they were not doing this! Not everyone has NICE grass or TOP dollar equipment. You all keep not string trimming 100% and I'll keep accepting your customers. A couple of extra minutes and it looks 100% better! STOP BEING LAZY!
