The director is an Iranian woman and I'm so proud of her for speaking about the problems that us Iranian women and other women in similar situations have in such a fantastic and unique way. I hope this animation gets the attention it deserves and I wish all women who are imprisoned by rules and women who don't have control over their own life and body get the freedom they deserve.

How is this work deep? It has a very simple, clear, and effective message. It's narrative and point of view are completely obvious with next to no subtlety in delivery. None of those things I just said are a negative critique, either. They're part of what make the short good. It shines a light on an important issue with simplicity and clarity. A work does not need to be "deep" to be of high quality. I would say that this is the case here. The story drives home one point in an obvious delivery. Just because something is shallow does not mean it's bad. Sometimes, like in this case, a shallow quality can help make sure the message is communicated easily and effectively. Definitely not a deep work...but most certainly a good one.

I came across this short by accident and let me tell you that this is very well describing the situation and how it is to live in Iran. I was born in Iran and spent part of my early adulthood there. The rules are made on the go and how it is fitted to the Islamic government. Sometimes people forget that it is only recent (last 40 years) that Iran has had the face of an Islamic extremist country to the outside world. Before that they had as much not less freedom like any other average country in the world. But now it is what it is and almost 3 generations passed and they are fighting the way they can by for example owning a dog in private and or singing as an underground singer or ride a bicycle in the remote areas. I am just amazed and happy to see this short getting attention here …

One thing that makes the Simpsons great is that the message appears in the last few seconds of each episode. The storyline here at first seems far too transparent, predictable and mundane--the dog becomes the third--but it is in the last few seconds that the unexpected and powerful ending pops up and carries a very poignant message for us all. Don’t just say thank you for making this ask: “How can we improve to not make this a living fate to women anymore?” We need to stand up and speak on our rights. Though those women can’t do it now. How about we that aren’t in that country. How about we match for this women and demand rights for them. Please listen to them. It’s hard living like that all your life.

It reminded me to a sequence from "The handmaids tale" where little by little woman started to lose their rights (first they couldn't have a bank account anymore, then they couldn't work because of a new law) and those "smaller"-in comparission-prohibitions against woman end up allowing that dystopian world you can see through the all show.
