He is one of the most notorious serial killers in America.

my only complaint is that at times the background music is louder than the individual speaking (narrator) I know it's hard to get the levels just right, but when trying to get the contents of a letter included into the story line it's almost lost into the background noise/music. Having watched a few of these, there's clearly a Sigmund Freud among one of those interviewed as all he can comment on about these murderers, is how it's all about sex. exodous02 - that’s not really true, tho. The internet can definitely embolden these types of people. We now have less serial killings, because of advancements in forensics & policing, but mass shootings have definitely become more prevalent amongst these types.
@exodous02
@exodous02 4 жыл бұрын
@@mytoesarecold5555 I can see why advancements in forensics have dropped crime, especially serial killers. As far as mass shooters I don't think they're related. Far before Columbine Israel had tons of mass shootings to the point people from the middle east though Americans were weak from freaking out about it. I don't think serial killers turn into mass shooters, i.e. I don't think the internet turns people that would have been serial killers into mass shooters. I think mass shootings are a phenomenon that came from one place in the world, would be mass shooters saw the news and thought they would do the same thing. One huge physiological difference is serial killers don't want to be known where mass shooters want their names plastered all over the media. I bet any FBI agent would laugh at the notion the two are connected, like a serial killer could be converted to a mass shooter because they talked on some chat board. Two completely different types of killers only connected because of that, they kill.

You know what's insane ? David makes claim that the killing of Stacy was filmed and that it was going to be given to the highest bidder . To think that her murder is actually out there on film is disturbing , it shows you the depth of evil that was in operation at that time , we have no idea what was really happening but I honestly believe he didn't work alone . The witness sketch artists proves it , the fact that some of those sketches look entirely different than Berkowitz and even resemble a couple fellows that were part of the cult he was with. This case is so incredibly insane and we probably only know the tip of the iceberg . This world is evil and the evil that is lurking in the dark corners is beyond our comprehension

I have to agree with the general consensus that the music was too loud. Furthermore, creepy music is a legitimate part of creating a scene in a movie. In a documentary, using music to try to trigger emotions is counterproductive. The point of a documentary is for people to learn. The presentation can be interesting. The subject matter is creepy enough. Using sound effects to manipulate anything else just reduces the credibility of the whole presentation. I don't think we're anywhere near answering the question of whether people are born to kill. I can see where some people might be born with predispositions, but how each individual channels predispositions depends on that individual.

Some of his more recent interviews are interesting. Not that he is intimidating or creepy but how normal he has become in prison. Here's been up for parole every two years since 2002 and could be released given his current state, but has refused the hearing every time because, "I have accepted my punishment, I deserve this. Letting me out, with what I have done, is simply unacceptable." Listening to his most recent interviews, he could easily be living next door.

I told her that because she was Catholic so i knew it would bother her.. and she told me something like "well why didn't the Devil tell you to take out the trash or paint the kitchen." I of course laughed at it but I realized that she was right.. the only devil was my own mind telling me to be destructive.. so whenever i hear about someone like this animal say that the devil made him do it, I already know they are just using that as an excuse for their crimes..

I worked in Queens when this was taking place. My parents were afraid for me .. Jimmy Breslin's ".44" is a great account of that time.

If he tried to commit those murders today, it wouldn't have happend. He wouldn't have gotten away with more than two victims if he tried that today. There are cameras everywhere these days. He would have been caught immediately with cameras on every corner.

I don't know who does the sound mixing on these videos but they need to go back and redo it... music is way too loud, very often can't hear what the narrator is saying...

I love watching these documentaries but when I ask my in-laws about them, since they are from New York and New Jersey and my mother-in-law grew up in Queens, the always say they don't remember or they never heard of it. I know they are lying but its frustrating.

The sound mix is appalling on this. When there's music plus background noise (traffic, city sounds, etc.), you can't hear what he's saying at all. The story is fine, but there are times when you really have to strain to hear, making it not worth it after about 20 minutes or so. I gave up around 21:43 when I could hardly hear the narrator at all.

What made the experts keep saying the killer got sexual gratification from the killings? They didn't mention the evidence. And the psycharist who recommended the killer to take insanity plea 🤦‍♂️

Prof Shelsinger really annoys me - every Real Crime doc he’s in he practically claims every act a killer does to “a sexual release”... It’s like he just wants to say colourful or sensational things (regardless of how accurate they are) so he makes the final edit.

Berkowitz used to drive around all night trying to be a hero. Trying to spot a fire and rescue people. Then he gave up and became an arsonist and murderer. I think he just felt like a 'nobody' and wanted to make an impact and be noticed. Immature, resentful and frustrated to the point of madness.
