So, if you look closely Arle's friend (Clervie) actually wears a pendant with a Lumidouce Bell design, which is the flower that the old Knave is holding as well as the flower Arle sees during the fight. In other words, the flowers definitely represent Clervie, which makes the line about pruning the flowers even more brutal

As for the flower, 1: The lumidouce bell in the "language of flowers" of Fontaine represents "Farewell", and 2: was the charm that Clervie (Arlecchino's orphanage sister) wore on her necklace. it's a double entendre to saying goodbye to both her friend and her past, I believe, as she embraces the curse and becomes what she has to in order to defeat her 'mother'.

The thing about Peruere being able to use pyro without a vision. Its possible the curse she has allows her to use pyro or her starting to use pyro is a sign that her vision is manifesting itself as she's reaching the height of her ambition. There have been cases where vision users are able to use their vision powers as it starts to manifest itself. Prime example is ayaka's vision story and the animated version of it where her opponent was actually ayato.

And his plushie is a bat. And Arle's plushie is a bat. So could this mean that Dottore is the one who manipulated Arle's curse from childhood, same as he did to Collei!?!? The way Mother spoke about the wilted Lumidouce bell flower at 3:10 she was mocking her own daughter's death including the rest of the children. "A bird tied down will never fly the nest" 4:10 was a taunt to get Peruer(Arle) to use her full potential i.e the curse. Mother wanted this.... sick twisted fuck... I'm the only one who gets hurt by the fact that Arlecchino fights with his Mother with a slight lag, but after looking at the flower and receives power of motivation, she goes into the mode of a cool protagonist - dodges blades only by rotating her head and catches swords with her bare hands? Of course, I understand that Genshin is an Anime. But was it possible without such stereotypes? And what kind of genius architect makes a vintage window that opens with a single breath of wind in a PRISON CELL? The expression "There is always a way out - through the window" is more relevant than ever. Apparently she lost her motivation. Interpretation of the flower: They're Lumidouce Bells. The same as the Pendant Clervie had, so the wilting flower = Clervie. Somehow when dealing with death, Peruere's curse grows? The two times we see the curse growing its when death is involved - burying a spider, and the dying lumidouce bells in the ground wilting/dying. Is she absorbing something off it? Who knows.

The sad thing is that Arlecchino has become the oppressor herself. And just like she faced her last master so will Lyney and Lynette. I don't think there is redemption for her this could be the saddest story Genshin has told so far.

I guess that's true, because the Blood Debt Directive that she applies to enemies in combat also in turns buffs her bond of life (her curse, in a way, cause she can't be healed in it), and the Blood Debt Directive does DoT which can drain the life of enemies (basically death making her stronger, reflected in her kit I suppose)

@@kismeteors I think she was supposed to be something else not a human. Possibly an angel. This is 100 percent tied to Khaenri'ah. Instead she became the harbinger of death. I know when I see the name of her story quest, if it does not match her constellation be prepared for some turns regarding Arlecchino. I don't think she will reach redemption but she might find out why she was cursed. Still have a creepy feeling that it's tied to the story Cater tells Lanoire about a girl that stole a flower in a garden. Which would make her Lilith or something close to it. As far as I understand Arlecchino was an orphanage herself so "Mother" is not her birth parents. Cater is seen confronting Arlecchino so they have a connection possibly her real child which would be ironic because it would mean that she can't face what he became, only pretend to be a loving parent.

If Peruere is not making the kids fight one another, then she's taking it upon herself to test them, and thus I don't see any real oppression.

Arlecchino has changed since that time it's possible that she cared about the orphanage once. Its also the trailer were lyney and lynette are clearly symbolised as pawns in a larger scheme.

About the flowers, in the JP dub, the mother more specifically says that she should've pruned the flower that *didn't grow well* earlier instead of waiting. So it seems like the two flowers represent arle and clervie. That's why the mother also says later that a bird tied down cannot fly, implying that arle has been tied down by clervie. The idea is i guess if the bad flower had been pruned earlier, the other better one could've gotten all the nutrients. Arle's last line to her mother also differs a bit in the JP and EN. She says "That's impossible for you" in JP. I guess the idea is more that the mother is not good enough or strong enough to guide arle into being a king. Arle's still refusing, but i would say it's closer to rejecting the whole viewpoint of the mother rather than just refusing to be king. Idk if the JP matches with the CN in these two lines, but thought it was still something that could add context/ideas.

Oh my god, I feel like the music in some parts are so so similar to Rubia (Fu Hua theme). After listening to it, I noticed the lyrics: "Life blooms like a flower". How absolutely IRONIC, considering this whole animated short is about death.. and flowers.. 🥲 Oh my god, and listening further. The parts that sound like Rubia are 1: when Clervie shares happy moments as kids with Arle, after the part where her spider was buried. The next... is when Arle is fighting "Mother", and she sees the flower in the grass. So god damn beautiful! Also... Arle fight with her "Mother" at the end, I couldn't help but be reminded of HI3 Previous Era Himeko, Herrscher of Fire. Her mentor who she lost when she was killed. So different from Fu Hua, yet the resemblance is still there. I love it!
