My favorite poem and piece of spiritual literature of all time. It is The Bible, The Vedas, The Upanishads, The Gita, the culmination of all yogas, condensed into one epic poem of instructions for the soul to disentangle from Maya and set itself free. This poem alone, if you had nothing else, is a sufficient map for liberation. It is the essence of Vivekananda’s life, the final words. Thank you for reciting it well. Were I to recite it, I would fail. I give in to expressing the emotions of the bold Sannyâsin on his epic journey, struggling against the ebb and flow of life, slowly “ceasing lament” and “letting go thy hold.”
