One of the lesser-known official Sonic albums is "Sonic Adventure Remix" by Toshiba EMI Limited, a collection of remixed vocal songs from Sonic Adventure, being reinterpreted in a rougher and more techno style. They feel like something you would hear while fighting the metal versions of each charatcer.

I recommend listening to the "sonic boom" album. It contains remixes of tracks from sonic spinball and sonic cd US, even even if it's more accurate to call the cd songs complete renditions of the respective tracks (probably what we would've heard in the game if Spencer Nielsen had more time to cook). Anyway, the lava powerhouse remix is off the hook and everyone should be aware of its existence

We have received a vocal theme for Metal Sonic, technically two of them. The more well-known one is Metal Overlord's theme, "What I'm Made Of". But if you're looking for one for just plain ol' Metal Sonic, "Look-A-Like" from the Sonic OVA has what you're looking for.
@ZachTheInsomniacКүн бұрын
What I’m made of I wouldn’t say is a metal sonic theme, but look-a-like def could be considered one. The metal sonic theme from virtual sonic is way more perspective oriented like other adventure themes, the lyrics being taken from the perspective of the characters. Look-a-like is more ambiguous in that regard. It’s talking about metal sonic for sure, but if anything it’s from the perspective of sonic. It is close to a metal theme tho, def could be considered one!
@SkyNinjaDelta22 сағат бұрын
@ First of all, holy shoot, big cool KZbinr man noticed my comment!!! 🫨❤️ Secondly, What I'm Made Of is a Metal theme in the same way Look-A-Like is. However, it's specifically for Metal Overlord, a niche form that Metal Sonic has only done twice (thrice counting its recreation in Shadow Generations, but that's the first time done again). Because Overlord is so specific, I agree with you, not truly a Metal Sonic theme like the other two are. Just thought it was worth bringing up. Just remembered you said we hadn't received a vocal theme BEFORE, so that definitely disqualifies W.I.M.O. Third of all, although Look-A-Like can be told from Sonic's perspective, it's way more from Metal's perspective. "A short while ago, I was born" implies the recent creation of Metal Sonic. While Sonic is still young, especially in the 90s era, he's still much older than Metal. He has his own home, multiple friends, is on friendly terms with the President (and a little too friendly with President's daughter), and has even been fighting Robotnik for a while. Meanwhile, Metal Sonic was created shortly before the start of the film, and wasn't completed/activated with Sonic's data until well into the plot. Look-A-Like also qualifies as "before" Virtual Metal, as the Sonic OVA was released to retail on May 31st, 1996, while Virtual Sonic came out August 20th of the same year. Kinda crazy how close they are together, 1996 was a good year for Metal Sonic! Not like they can't coexist, and Sonic Team should really consider using both themes for different projects. After all, Sonic has 2 versions of It Doesn't Matter, and also has His World. Shadow has Throw It All Away, All Hail Shadow, and (I Am) All of Me. Come to think of it, not using a Metal Theme from *Virtual* Sonic in Sonic Forces was such a missed opportunity (of course, Forces has plenty of those, as illustrated by this video).

A member of Magna-Fi said that they were contacted to write a song for Shadow The Hedgehog, and they wrote Who I Am, expecting that when they met up with Jun Senoue that he would record his parts for the song. Instead Jun Senoue wanted them to write a new song together, which was All Hail Shadow. They later re-recorded it for their own album. Also Virtual Sonic was released in a collection of five Sega remix albums, the others being Comix Zone, X-men 2, Toejam and Earl, and Vectorman. Comix Zone is also by Drossin, and the Toejam album is really funky and jazzy, easily my favorite one.

Virtual Sonic isn't even the only Sonic album with some obscure remixes/original songs. There's also Sonic the Hedgehog Remix, which contains some original songs as well as remixes from Sonic CD. There's also Sonic the Hedgehog Arcade from 1996 that contains the infamous "They Call Me Sonic", but also contains some other, much more obscure tracks. Finally, while probably not as obscure as the prior ones, Sonic Gems Collection contains some original remixes of songs from games like Sonic CD, Sonic 3, Sonic R, and Sonic the Fighters.

2:19 these bands sound like they would have been better off making music for Rayman 3 instead. Or even music for RAYMAN 4 BABY! BOOGIE YEAH BABY RAYMAN’S BETTER! C’MON GET MADDER, MADDER, MADDER! Same thing with Magna-Fi, maybe they woulda still existed if they made this song for the purple wonder rather than the black blur. Okay to be fr; yeah these songs have textures I’d expect more from sonic cd or even the rayman franchise, a lot more funk & slot more acoustics than straight rock. Who I am can be shared between Raymesis & Shadow, too bad shit’s copyrighted.

Some other tracks that are probably a little more well known than the Chaos Jam album, but still not something most people have heard are the tracks from the 1994 Sonic the Hedgehog - Remix Album, which was created by Sonic CD's Japanese soundtrack's composers, Naofumi Hataya and Masafumi Ogata, which is mostly comprised of remixes of Sonic CD tracks, although parts of the remixes seem to include music that was potentially from scrapped levels.
