The Bean was, in fact, my first MP3 player (and my mom's too). For listening to some Bon Jovi and AC/DC on the school bus in middle school or walking around the neighborhood for exercise (her use), it was perfect. The software wasn't that bad, all things considered. The problem is that the rail pin (for lack of a better term) was held in with glue and that glue wore down. I was a kid and didn't have super glue, so I couldn't fix mine. Also that CHKDSK thing could be turned off via a command line string.

And the companies wondered why everyone turned to piracy at the time. The simple fact was that there were so many bits of rubbish proprietary software like this that no one could work it all out - make something complicated and people won't use it, make them pay for such rubbish and they will instead find something else, legal or not. Great and funny video as ever.

Blame Shawn Fanning. If it weren't for him, history would have turned out VERY different. Where is he now? Who knows. Just a throw away joke in The Italian Job.

"The easiest way to stop piracy is not by putting antipiracy technology to work. It's by giving those people a service that's better than what they're receiving from the pirates" - Gabe Newell And he was right. Just look at how it went with video streaming. The time services came around that gave easy subscriptions to their entire catalog 24/7 at high quality, people used that, because it was better than some low quality rips elsewhere. Well until everyone thought it would be great to make their own streaming service to fragment the market. Now it's back to the seas

Sony really has a twisted gift in naming their stuff. I mean, some of their products carry the same exact name since 1995 and others are like a Word Twister session gone horribly awry.
@User00000000000000042 жыл бұрын
Well, if you make as many products as they do, you don't exactly have the luxury of naming everything with what part of the year it was made and confusing the hell out of people when you should just be using a damn model number. I much prefer Sony's specific names to Apple's mushy generic nonsense which requires you to type a serial number in a website to know what you REALLY have on your hands. Much better. Yeah.
@waltercomunello1212 жыл бұрын
@@User0000000000000004 to me they just lack creativity. that's not really an excuse to name something with a friggin social security number. if I say, "EeePC", people immediately know what I'm talking about. M1 is another example. I know what it is. I used 5 letters in the first example (3 of which were the same, and one after the other) and in the second I used a letter and a number. if you can't see what's behind the name, because the name took all your mental effort to be processed, then you're going to forget what the thing does more easily, or hate it because the name was abysmally created.

Man, those headphones are a walk down memory lane. I bought those style of headphones separately for my iPod and they were my headphones for university for quite some time. Always despised the white colour scheme, they ran into the exact same problem Apple did with their stock headphones in that they turned greasy and dirty within _days_ of using them. I think I still have the Atrac3Plus software CD too! (came with my Discman). Ended up redeeming the code (it was for just one song at the time) for "Save Tonight" by Eagle-Eye Cherry.
