It's a much closer bond due to it being made while you're both sharing In a horrible experience where likely there is very few if ANYONE else you like or are willing to trust or be comfortable around. 5 years of a prison friendship is more like a lifetime.

actually a legit sad story line. they were best friends in the can which means a lot, it's a brutal environment and friends are more than just drinking buddies in there. angelo being whacked just broke tony b, who arguably already was filled with impulse control issues anyway, but losing that close a friend is sad.

Wasn't there a scene where they say Tony B got arrested but Tony S didn't, because Soprano was late or something ? Or that Tony S got away ? I always thought Tony B resented his cousin. He thought he took the years for Tony S, or that Tony S should have been arrested too. His jokes about Tony S, his entire attitude seemed like he was annoyed that Tony S was successful out on the street while he, Tony B, should have been. That's what I got from it.

I think Angelo got done dirty.
