This show was like the Beatles. Everything before them was piss water, save twilight zone and a few others I suppose. This show changed television forever. Whatever your favorite show is (granted its made for viewers 17 and up), look up interviews, quotes, whatever, look up what you favorite director thinks of the sopranos. Besides martin scorsese, you can understand him being biased and probably defensive. After the Godfather 1&2, and Goodfellas, there was no need for any other mob films. Well this is (partly) the same subject matter, but mostly just about real life. It’s untouchable. The Wire is pretty fucking good as well, and personally I love the 1st season of True Detective. Breaking bad is awesome, but its more like a tarantino movie, it kinda borrows from the greats that came before it, and you’ll notice the easter eggs if you pay attention.

It was before my time too, but I guess I have an eye for cinema, and I pay attention to something that is regarded across the board still to this day as the greatest television show ever made. Casting, writing, acting, story, direction, cinematography, music, everything down to the wardrobe, everything you can think of was executed as perfect as any work of film you will ever see. The first episode of any tv show is the hardest one to get through, especially if it’s not based on a previous work like a book etc. if you watch the show, and don’t like it, it a reflection of how old you are/the quality of film you have been exposed too. Im not talking “art” like how some people might look at a painting and see horseshit, while others see pure gold. I challenge you to come back when you are, idk, 28 I guess and give it another watch. First time I saw it was in 2013 at age 22 and fucking loved it immediately.
