Clearly according to Richie's hierachy of values the kid that Beansie berated for not filling Richie's coffee cup on time and told to hastely get a veal parm sandwich for Richie was an innocent, uncorrupterd young soul and the antithesis of Beansie with his lowlife, ungrateful and manipulative character. That's why Richie reassures the kid and tells him "it's ok, take it easy kid", which means don't beat yourself up for anything Beansie might object to your behavior. Richie is guided by his "moral code" as he doesn't want the kid to fall pray to what he perceives as Beansie's creative manipulation.
