jakep1979 It only takes one generation to blow a fortune. THink paris hilton is gonna keep or make the billions her parents did? No she's gonna blow it and any kids she has will be poor too. Unless you raise your kids to work hard and succeed no matter what their circumstances they will always be poor. Wealth and success is a mind set too. You can be born into it and that's the way things are, but it's something else to build a fortune from nothing or maintain it if you're financially irresponsible.

I think the point he's trying to make is that theoretically his son could be anything he wants if he made the right choices, but because of his genes and his environment, he will only ever be one thing.

Tony doesn't want his son to follow in his footsteps, but ultimately children just copy off of their parents and in the long run AJ was influenced to be like Tony but never actually had the balls to be somebody like him, Christopher is the same way, the young kids are not entirely sure of what they are getting themselves into. Tony on the other hand is just a monster of a man who just consciously does whatever he wants and doesn't feel bad about it because of his mother and his father's influence too

I hear intellectuals and people who want to appear as intellectuals say that all the time. Frankly, I don't get it. Of course, we don't choose how our brain functions but however it functions, that is who we are. Religion is often brought into that discussion too. People say that if there is no soul there is no free will. I don't get that either because if there is a soul, did I chose it? No, of course not. It is the same thing. We need to already exist as conscious beings to make a decision but that doesn't change that those decisions are ours.

I think the better and more accurate point of view is that: Environment, upbringing, genetics and all that can heavily and I mean heavily affect and change your life but you still can fight it if you choose to it and it is a really really hard thing to go against all that but it's possible. but since most people just let these things completely affect them, I don't blame people for thinking that you can't change yourself.
