You are really very kind but I have to clarify one thing: Naples is not only where pizza margherita was born but where pizza was born. Naples created pizza. Before Naples, pizza did not exist. Piadinas, focaccias, anything that could date back to the Egyptians or other cultures has nothing gastronomically to do with pizza. Pizza is something different, new, created - I repeat in Naples. Even before the margherita there are the white pizzas that date back to the sixteenth century and then an infinite number of different pizzas, just as good if not better than the margherita. The Margherita itself, like the marinara, dates back to the eighteenth century and therefore well before the arrival of Queen Margherita in Naples. Furthermore, we can only talk about style if we are referring to pizzas made in the rest of the world: New York style, Chicago style... just to give a few examples but we cannot talk about Neapolitan style. We are not one style among many. We are pizza and the rest of the world is a more or less successful copy of it. P.s. Neapolitan pizza: Since 5 February 2010 it has been officially recognized as a guaranteed traditional specialty of the European Union and in 2017 the art of the Neapolitan pizza chef, of which Neapolitan pizza is the tangible product, was declared an intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO. Just to be clear. In summary: In the Universe of pizza as such, Naples is God and the rest of the world are more or less respectful believers of the relevant religion. Greetings

if each one of Italian cities is a different one, you can think at Napls as a living being by itself. Not only has his own language, his rules, hir own religion and his god; it's something way deeper... Definitely not for Oriental tourists at first time in Italy, 'cause it is "normal" to be kinda harassed and touched by perfect strangers (like the guitar guy did lol I admired your composture)

I recognize so much of your video. Another great old neighborhood to the north is Rione Sanita. . . . .one thing about Maradona: Napoli had NEVER been Campione d'Italia until he arrived, then twice in 5 years. He passed his prime, and Napoli never again won until last year.

Inside the fried pizza there is ricotta (which is not a waste of mozzarella but another dairy product) and "prociutto cotto" (translate in "cooked ham" which I don't think the term exists in English but would be the ham that is steamed and it is a typical Italian cured meat like mortadella) and not bacon.

Hi! You just caused a serious debate at the dinner table this evening 😂 But in the end we came to the same conclusion *drumroll* Southern Italy! While you won't go wrong with either, we just love that part of the world so much. There are great cities, more diverse food (IMO), and a ton to do/see. The only caveat is that some areas (like Puglia) can be very quiet in November (you'll see this in upcoming videos). ALSO, by Southern Italy I hope you also mean Sicily - because that place is a gem. (those videos are on the way, too) And just to reiterate - you can't go wrong with either!

That goes for the rest of southern italy too, but I'd say the best places are in the Sorrento area (around Naples, Positano, Amalfi, etc.), Puglia (Monopoli, Polignano a mare, Gallipoli, Alberobello) and Sicily (Taormina, Castelmola, Catania, Scicli, Palermo, Mazara del vallo, Noto and so many more)

If you want to see clean streets you have to go to Trieste, Bolzano, and other northern or central Italian cities less crowded by tourism throughout the year. Naples, like Rome, Florence, Venice, and Milan, has constant flows of tourism in addition to having the more typical structural problems of southern Italy: no doubt it is dirtier than Milan, but the chaos of Naples is what makes it different from all the other cities I have seen in Italy.
@businessasusual907710 ай бұрын
