The new melee sword has 3 different attacks. LT for a one hit kill, RT for a decapitation, and hold RT for a lunge attack. Fyi.

Right trigger is the heavy attack that does the animation also you can pre ready it to by holding the right trigger and the left trigger is how you normal melee and it’s faster

That "finishing touch" really reminds me of BF1 melee kills when your execute someone from behind or when you get a kill with any of the melee weapons

It also has a fast killing time if you don't use the execution and melee with it normally. So on the controller, you have the bumpers or triggers depending on your button setup, and pressing the right analog stick will give you the fast melee.

3:33 you can turn it off too some degree. Pressing your main melee button (buttstock) or left trigger does standard attack without the finisher.

Incase some of you don't know, whatever you're button is to fire your weapon is the melee hit that triggers the front execution( only weapon to do this). Whatever the aim button or the regular melee with the butt of the weapon is is the regular quick hit like the other melee weapons.

That is HORRIBLE tho bc the mini execute has that delay but most melee players use to fire weapon key for their melee so its REALLY bad especially on controller

I'm a ps5 and it is annoying, but at the same time though I think this was done intentionally because it's high risk and for that to happen they needed a solution to input which button to trigger the front execution. For me on my controller setup I have L1 for aim and R1 for firing the weapon so my heavy hit(front execution) is R1 and the regular melee is L1 and right thumb stick in. So yeah it's annoying but I think that was the only option that makes sense( not from my perspective but from theirs).

To unlock it you have to do crouched melee kills. does sliding kills count too?

You can unlock exp and camos for locked weapons you got through bundles you just gotta edit the bundle variant. You can also just exfil from zombies with the bundle weapon to unlock its base version. The sword i so cool though gives 2077 vibes. Wouldn't be surprised if they hired a modder to make the animations.

I wonder what format TKO records the videos in cause saving those videos might have been as simple as converting formats, which you can do in obs. Also you can record in .mkv so that if something like a power loss happens you still keep the recording up until that point, and then in obs you can easily convert it to mp4 afterwards. If you record in mp4 and shit happens it's just lost unless you take a break in the recording
