this is the best Maserati sound video and gets the least amount of hits because you have quotes around title, take the quotes off and you'll get more hits, it's very hard to find in the google search !! thanks

@HubAndre Crossplane crankshaft is the only way to get real "V8 sound". Italian v8s usually have flatplanes, this is why there are italian v8 fans and american v8 fans. I used to belong to the second group... But I must say Maserati did good job designing this thing:)

flat plane crankshaft? Interesting question. A Maserati Ghbli V8 has a Crossplane crankshaft. It's heavier and more balanced then a flat plane crankshaft like in a Ferrari 308 or Cosworth F1 engine. The flat plane crankshaft is lighter so the engine is able to rev more. The Maserati V8 engine can rev only up to 5000 - 5500 RPM , but it's torque due to the much heavier crankshaft is enormous. It's 480 NM.
