The story behind John Wilson with this type of music is amazing. For much of it was apparently destroyed and he spent 1000's of hours remaking it to its original sound.

How on earth did the orchestra make it exactly sound like the 1965 Irwin Kostal's? Wow. Bravo!
@Symphorch5 жыл бұрын
It's awesome right??? The main answer is that John Wilson and his orchestra specialize in doing the large-scale movie musicals in their specific arrangements. So, Mr. Wilson is able to dig deep into the vaults to pull out what he needs. The other thing is that this orchestra has probably learned about the performance practice of 50's and 60's movie orchestras and maybe even use similar instruments from the period.

Sierra is a TRUE artist in every sense of the word. Her acting ability as well as vocal is outstanding. Diction, clarity, pitch, everything is spot on. Coming from one singer too another. I will say she wowed me MAJORLY in her role as Christine in Phantom with Ramin as The Phantom. So sad too see that outstanding musical end because of production costs. I can't believe Andrew Lloyd Webber said in an interview it costs nearly $1,000,000 a week to put on that production. That's insane but worth every penny in my opinion. And he we have never pulled the plug on it. Considering the younger generation is just now starting to get interested in it. I was VERY lucky enough too see Crawford and Brightman back in the 80's when it came to NY. And of all the musicals i've seen over the years Phantom will ALWAYS hold a special place in my heart. It's not just a love story at it's roots. It's about acceptance of one's differences. One who feels like an outcast from society. If that doesn't speak volumes and still hold A TON of relevancy for people to relate too today. I don't know what does. So again, sad that it's getting pulled from Broadway.
